Wait, are you saying quotas aren't real, and we don't have to sign David Lee or draft Bender?

I agree with that. Fortunately I doubt Philly passes on him. They need a guy like Simmons more. Ingram may be better, but he wouldn't have the same kind of impact on Philadelphia as he will in LA and they desperately need a playmaker like him. I mean we already have two legit playmakers in D'Angelo and JC.

I really want Ingram, but I think Simmons is going to be a beast, too.

The debate between Simmons or Ingram is such a good problem to have, particularly for the 76ers who are really the one that needs to make that decision.

They essentially are trying to figure out whether they would prefer a baby Lebron or a baby Durant. When you think of it in that perspective, it's clear why they are leaning Simmons. He is projected to have a similar impact as Lebron for a team, unstoppable in transition with great Court vision and athleticism. Amusingly, both Lebron and Simmons also have the same perceived mentality (lack of killer instinct, passive).

Either way, it's kind of nice that the Lakers are in such a low pressure situation at the #2 pick, they just take who Philly doesn't. There's no way they could screw that up.

They could get ............cute. Worked out last year but would be pressing their luck this year when Ingram seems the overwhelming "perfect" choice for what they are going to be needing with new system and Luke.

Some people said they got Russell because they were going to try to get a C in FA and didn't want to draft one, and didn't get the one they wanted. If the lakers are targeting a sf in FA, they may not get ingram for that reason.

That makes zero sense when you're talking about Simmons being gone. If Ingram is there you take him because he's the best player available.

This would be an awful reason to pass on the best talent available at #2 though. IMO we probably did get the best talent available at #2 last season in the end though anyway, and PG was a need for us as much, if not more than C. This time though, we desperately need a SF, and we have for years. We have one currently, Anthony Brown, SF is a huge need AND the guys available play that position. We can't screw this up, I can't see us with a surprise pick this time, unless the Sixers take Ingram 1, and someone blows us away in workouts and Simmons has major red flags. In this case I can see Simmons being the Okafor of this draft, but even then I can't see passing on him because then the C Bags get him, and we can't risk giving them a talent like that.

Ingram is the best talent available and fills the greatest need. There's absolutely no reason to pass on him this year.

Do you see him being a decent contributor off the bat? How would you compare him to rookie Ibaka?

Also anybody think mgmt is up to something with Skal? He is the only prospect ive read that has worked out for us 2x now. Would be interesting if they got fancy and foumd a way to trade for him as well, obviously hoping they're not considering him @ #2 lol
