It may not be the Lakers' choice. I think Simmons' people don't want him working out for anyone because he's the presumptive first round pick. Working out for 2nd or 3rd cheapens his value a little bit. If the Sixers surprise and take Ingram, the Lakers will take Simmons without even working him out so they don't need to worry about a pre-draft workout.

Ok, but what if the Sixers don't take Simmons or Ingram? You never know. Do we go with Ingram who we will have worked out and gotten a great look at, or roll the dice on a guy who refused to? That's a huge decision at that point and I'd be wary of going after a guy who refused to work out for anyone and who no one has seen play since what, like early March?

I think if Simmons is on the board, the Lakers are taking him no matter what so in the end it doesn't matter from Simmons' perspective (or at least his representatives). The way they see the market, he's either going 1st (more money, prestige, worse spot) or he's going second (little less prestige, little less money, better spot). They have no fear of him missing and going 3rd to the C Bags who would be dancing around naked in the streets to see Simmons (or Ingram) available.

I forgot about the C Bags at 3. Man Philly better not screw this up, I don't want Boston getting one of Simmons or Ingram.

There's virtually no chance Philly passes on Simmons and definitely no chance they pass on both. That'd be the most insanely stupid thing I've ever heard of. Boston knows the 3rd pick is a big step down from the first two that's why they want to trade it so badly now. They missed out on a top tier player at that spot.

I don't think we are moving down to take him any more, but this had some more video on him. I do think whoever takes him is getting a heck of a player in a couple years.

"Looking at Bender as a prospect requires a fair amount of projection, not just because of his extreme youth and lack of playing time, but also because he's just scratching the surface on many of his skills. Despite showing a high base on a diverse set of skills, it could be a couple of years before Bender turns that into consistent production at the NBA level. Still, Bender's skill set, and athletic profile, is so unique, and so coveted in today's NBA, his potential as an impact role player would be very difficult to pass up. By all accounts, Bender is an extremely hard worker who consistently plays the game with a high energy level and great confidence, which should give decision makers confidence he can continue to improve his overall skill level, and the combination of all that should place him near the top of the draft on June 23rd."

Philly is taking Simmons and we're taking Ingram. It's a lock, unless we trade the pick.

I'd feel better about Qi or Cornelie at 32 than Bender at 3.

    No balls, no glory

Not even a risk at 32 for anything for anybody. They aren't even expected to stick.

Bender FTW!!! I don't know what that has to do with your post. I just wanted to be random. Number 32: I have no idea. Why do we target a 5 that has some legit size that can set screens? Who are those guys? I guess I have to look at the list Trodgers compiled.

D'Angelo is insulted. And apparently passive aggressive.

I'm with you. It makes way more sense. Maker or Qi late will give you similar value as Bender over the next 2 years or so. I don't think any of them make much of an impact for a couple seasons at least, might as well take the project later.

Obviously anxious to see if we do really end up with Ingram, but our 2nd round pick is really intriguing as well.

I'm honestly thinking we trade it. We've got Clarkson, Russell, Randle, Nance Jr., Ingram, and maybe Black. That's plenty of young guys to develop. I've got my eyes on the 32nd for Jose Calderon. He's expiring and would make a great bench PG in this system.

Bender projected #3 to Boston, with us taking Ingram.

I think it depends who is there though, if Maker/Qi is there I would take either, the reward is far greater than the risk.
