Just read reports that simmons is fine joining the sixers and is now a 100% lock to be the number 1 pick. So really there's no reason for him to workout for anyone.

You can add to this, what is his worst case scenario by not working out? He isn't dropping past #2, so his choices are go #1 overall or go #2 to the Los Angeles Lakers where he will likely make MORE money due to endorsements AND play with his good friend Russell. Us being in the #2 spot makes not going #1 a very appealing "drop." Given his circumstances, I might not work out either. If he goes #1, he wins. If he goes #2, he could conceivably win more. And Ben Simmons, barring a catastrophic injury, is not dropping past #2.

If I were either guy, I don't think I'd workout.

Great point. In fact, he'd probably prefer LA overall anyway.

They are all afraid to be asked to work out against Bender. #truth

Igram may not be the only rookie the Lakers add to their wing rotation in the draft, as the team is set to work out Texas A&M's senior small forward Danuel House next week, according to Sean Deveney of Sporting News.Deveney reports that House impressed NBA executives with his performance against likely top-ten pick Jaylen Brown this week:

'House is a senior who has good size for a shooting guard (6-7) and developed a reputation as a relentless defender after transferring from Houston to Texas A&M as a junior. He helped the Aggies lock up LSU star Ben Simmons three times during the season, as Simmons averaged only 12.0 points and shot 35.5 percent from the field in those games. He shut down another potential first-rounder, Baylor's Taruean Prince, in December, holding him to 2-for-8 shooting and only eight points.

But it was his play against Brown in Boston that generated some buzz about House this week. Brown is only 19 — House turns 23 this week — but against a younger talent, House looked like an NBA-ready defender.'

He could be what Anthony Brown isn't but can he shoot or generate some offense? If he can, he'd be worth a look or even be a second round pick.

That write up makes it sound like he's a lottery pick. :D

But at 6'7", if he can defend at an NBA level all-ready, just lock him in a gym everyday, and the gym door only unlocks after he MAKES 1,000 3 pointers.

this whole thing is feeling eerily reminiscent of last year. right down to me being happy that the presumptive second-best prospect was falling into the lakers' laps...

so i suppose that ingram will now get excited to join the lakers, only to get bendered on draft night? and simmons will go on to be one of the best rookies to enter the league in the last decade.

Last year though, a lot of people had Russell (or even Porzingis) ahead of Okafor as they worried about his ability to thrive in today's NBA. This year, I don't think I've seen a single draft board that has anyone but Simmons and Ingram at the top...Except Sirron's board.

But even mine involved trading down. If we don't trade down, then I take Simmons or Ingram.

Ellenson's stock is so strange. He's slid down to 15 in DE and 11 on NBAdraft.net but this will be the 2nd time the Lakers have gotten a look at him. Could the Lakers be looking to trade up from #32 or something?

I've never heard of Harris or Pechacek...

Poythress is kind of interesting, but he seems more like an undersized 4 than a 3 in the NBA. He's only a 30% shooter from the arch. We don't really need any more 4s around here.

Been looking at some mocks to see what might be available at 32. I'll be back this weekend with a write up.

Nah, because last year I had: Towns>Russell>Okafor, and this year: Ingram>Simmons. So based on my awesomeness, we're good.

I agree. I think a lot of people thought we might end up with Russell.
