I remember that gym and the floor last year when Russell was working out there.

I believe he's part of the same agency so that would make sense.

I'm on the Ingram train, but would still be thrilled with Simmons. The more I watch Simmons though, the more I see Odom and less Lebron. Simmons is very athletic, but no where near Lebron or Biff's stratosphere. Lebron is an elite player, an all-time great (as much as I hate him). He's very skilled, but what makes him so elite is his top 3 of all time athleticism. Without the athleticism, he's still very very good, but what is he? I'd say a stronger Lamar Odom. That's not even fair because his strength is a big part of his athletic package. So to be more specific, what is Lebron without his strength, speed, and explosiveness? He's just a more driven pseudo-alpha male Lamar. That's how I see Simmons, which is still an awesome player...just not a francise super star.

Jack of all trades and master of none.
That perfectly sums up Simmons when comparing him to some of the all-time greats.

He doesn't have the athleticism of Lebron.
He doesn't have the vision of Magic.
He doesn't have the scoring ability/mentality of McGrady.

He's a bit passive so I agree that his ceiling is probably a stronger Odom, with a right hand.
Probably peaks as the 2nd best player on a contender (Pau Gasol type impact)

Yes they do and I also think Mitch's comment about the draft was taken completely out of context by some people. All he said was he wasn't sure if the gap between 2 and 3 was as big as some suggest, but he wasn't sure and they'd know that down the road. Meaning they won't know if it's true or not until the workouts and their full evaluations are complete.

Mitch will do his due diligence if he didn't last season we may have never taken D'Angelo and our future wouldn't be as nearly as promising as it right now. It's gonna take something unforeseen happening in those workouts with Bender to leapfrog what looks like two can't miss prospects in Simmons and Ingram.

    Here's what Mitch said:
He's 100% right and that means it's way too early to be dismissing any of the top prospects from the conversation. They all deserve a shot to prove themselves next week in workouts. It's too early to say Ingram and Simmons are the only options to consider even if those are the two that separate themselves through this process.

Yet somehow people took that quote to mean he doesn't think there's a big seperation when in fact he said it remains to be seen and that somehow all that means leaning toward Bender. Gotta love today's journalism.

Lakers doing their due diligence as they should even if they have their sights on either Simmons or Ingram...

I wouldn't mind Simmons at all, just really prefer Ingram. Last year early on I wanted one of the bigs, but understood the selection of DRuss. If we passed on either Simmons or Ingram this year, while I'll try and suck it up to Mitch just knowing more I'd definitely be more disappointed.

Diallo is interesting, but he's too small for full time Center and he's too clunky to play the wing spots...

Brandom Ingram during Draft Combine Interviews:

One team official told me Ingram's interview was a home run.

He was asked by the head coach to come up and diagram a last-second play for himself. He confidently walked to the white board and diagrammed a "heck of a play," according to the official.

"He's more than long arms and a jump shot," he said. "He's got a really good feel for the game."

Ingram has closed some of the gap between himself and Simmons overall, and some teams now think he's the best prospect in the draft.

I know some people think Simmons is the better player, but I just don't buy it. Everything I've seen from Ingram from his skills, to his mind for the game, to his demeanor screams that he is what we need on this team, and I think he can be the better player buy the end of their careers.

I will be mad if Philly takes Ingram, and unfortunately, that's totally something Philly might do.

I have been on the Ingram train since the draft lottery I even posted in here saying I was concerned about Simmons. He is still a great prospect, no doubt about it. But Ingram just screams talent, perfect fit, and untouched potential yet for us.

I do feel good that the Sixers Coach knows the Simmons family really well so all the rumors of bad fit, bad attitude, I don't think they are concerned about that. It's just whether they feel Ingram is the better player for their organization.

The anxiousness we all feel as fans is going to go up a few notches when these guys start to work out for both teams.

    Ditto.

I didn't even bother to watch these guys till I knew where we would pick, but once we got #2, I immediately watched and read everything I could on Simmons and Ingram. Every video I saw told me Ingram is special, and while I expect Simmons to be a force in the league, I don't feel he has the head on his shoulders that Ingram has, nor the attitude.
