Another thing with Ingram is that he had a late growth spurt.

He was only 6'2 in Freshman Year and graduated High School at 6'8. Now 6'10, he's still got quite a bit of growing to do in terms of muscle maturity. He will definitely fill out into a stronger player.

Luke would pull a DeAndre Jordan and back out of being our coach.

I'm going to trust our scouting dept, and if they go with Dragan Bender, I'm sure it will be because it was the best choice for what we needed.

The footage out there is underwhelming, as is experience level, but it's that way for most prospects. It's all about potential. Besides Simmons or Hield, most draftees may not make a big impact this year.

Ingram will..... to the degree his frame and weight realistically allow. NBA ready skill set.

I was fine with everything you said until this last part:

    1. WAT?

    2. Why would Mitch do that? First of all, we've provided him with everything he's ever needed to do a good job. He's had money, resources, and the kind of clout other organizations are just now developing. Second of all, we've treated him well. He's failed for 3 straight seasons and if things don't improve, that's on him. Who takes revenge for something that is their fault? If you cost your company millions of dollars and they fired you, would you then use their trade secrets illegally to get back at them? I hope not! It's your fault! Lastly, if he did that he'd never find work again. He'd never be a GM or an executive of any other company in the NBA. The Lakers would spread news far and wide that Mitch in his last moments was vindictive for some reason and tanked his team's ability to be competitive. Nobody would hire that guy!

    3. Jim has even LESS reason to do that. Even if he steps down from his role as President of Basketball Ops, he's STILL an owner of the team. He's not going to make his own investment worse just to get back at his sister. That doesn't make sense! That's his own money he's losing!

I thought D'Angelo would take a while to acclimate to the NBA. It went way faster than I thought, so I won't count out Ingram but there will definitely be pains with him the first couple years. Luckily for him he can come in as mostly a catch-and-shoot option meaning less physicality, but he's going to end up on his butt a lot next season.

If Ingram fills out to 220-230 lbs, he'd literally have no weaknesses as a modern-day SF.

I genuinely think his floor is Tayshaun. I said that at least a month ago or so and I stand by that. In fact recently John Ireland and Max Kellerman picked that up so if they're reading our posts, what's up fellas?

Tayshaun did a ton of things well even if he was never actually a star. If Tayshaun was a few years younger, I'd be hoping for him this summer.

That's his FLOOR. So his FLOOR is a perfect fit for what we need. I think his ceiling is a Durant-lite maybe more like a Grant Hill even with similar output, but more shooting and less slashing.

I'd like to think his floor is Tayshaun with better shooting and rebounding, at the very least.

I don't think Ingram's weight is going to be a huge issue, because the NBA really isn't physical anymore. The best player in the league is a relatively small guy, who only started putting on more muscle the last few seasons maybe. Durant is still relatively thin too. The new rules protect skilled guys on the perimeter, the only time you're going to encounter real contact and maybe risk injury from it is driving to the hoop.

I can't stop drooling over the lineup of DAR / JC / Ingram / Nance / Randle in a GSW offense. Two big questions of Nance/Randle developing a respectable J and JC/Randle developing into respectable defenders.

I cannot wait for this season to start. Add in some high level vets and we are on the up and up.

I didn't ask if he could put on weight soon. I asked how much more weight realdeal thought he could gain period.

Completely agree with all of this. Bender makes very little sense.

I was just watching the breakdown of the offense that @YoungThundercat posted and oh man... I am just salivating at that offense. It'll take a while for our kids to get it 100%, but it's going to make them soooo much better. Holy s***. Randle in the cross-post action is going to be an absolute monster. I think D'Angelo and Jordan are going to have a great time running this thing.

I never said you did. I'm speaking more in terms of people who are insanely inpatient and want everything/results immediately. He's skinny, yes, but that's not a concern at all.

Mods, now that the lottery is over, could we possibly consolidate some of the threads? Seems like this thread, the lottery thread, and the "how upped are you that we kept the pick" thread are all just separate discussions over who we should pick. It'd be easier to follow if we just had one NBA Draft thread like last year in my opinion.

I'd really like to see JC step up his Defense next season. Maybe a kid like ingram playing aggressive Defense will inspire them a bit.
