He is in the gym shooting jumpers everyday. The shoe deal is part of business and it mentions the Lakers so it's going to get publicity. Now the "buddy" thing with DLo...that I can see being a potential issue.

@Savory Griddles You're right but where's the talk about Brandon Ingram's shoe deal? It just begs the question.

I don't know enough about Simmons to make judgement but it seems like Ingram is all business. Simmons seems like the perfect guy to get distracted by lala land....and yeah, especially with buddy D'Angelo.

The fact that we're sitting here debating between taking Brandon Ingram and Ben Simmons makes me grin. Either way we're getting one heck of a player. I'll gladly take whomever Philly doesn't choose. The Los Angeles Lakers just got better today.

Randle, Clarkson, Russell, Nance, and now Ingram/Simmons? For everyone complaining about how the basketball gods owe us something or that the NBA needs to pay us back for the CP3 veto, will this quench your thirst for blood? I mean, that's a nice haul for a mere 3 seasons. And the 32 pick is essentially a late first rounder as well. I have faith that Mitch will find someone there that will be on the roster.

Would any of you trade down and get a potential star not a superstar but a somewhat potential all star like devin Booker and there pick for our pick?

No it will not satisfy me. The way we got f***ed over, we deserve all the riches until we get back on top. That veto literally crippled the franchise, I'll get over it when the Lakers lift the trophy. Until then they owe us.

    Absolutely not. No. Nope. Never.

It's very telling that it's been just over an hour and I've flip flopped on being "200% sold" on either guy at least 10 times.

    Ingram is the better fit.

But, damn, what Simmons MIGHT be.

    Ingram...

    Simmons....

    Ingram....

    Simmons....

    I'm so damn happy!!!!

I really want Ingram, he would be the perfect fit. But Philly not picking Simmons scares me.

On the bright side, philly is trying to fix itself. Simmons is the better pick if you want to sell your brand. He has the all around skill and personality to make them relevant again.

Here's an interesting idea, if Philly takes Ingram, would you trade #2 for Jimmy Butler and their 14th pick?

No. Simmons has more long term upside than Butler IMO.

It depends who is available, but my initial reaction is no.

There are only two reasons to trade that pick:

    1. Durant says he's coming and he wants "Player X"
    2. We get back Paul George, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, or Karl Towns.

That's really it. The #2 pick is worth a heck of a lot more than the #3 pick and this year that's more true than ever.

Hell yeah and twice on Sundays.

You're telling me I get a guaranteed all-star AND the #14 pick for a dude whose best attribute is potential? Please sign me up. Simmons has been compared to Boris Diaw. Jimmy Butler is an elite two-way player. Done deal.

No reason why this guy can't learn to shoot with the talent he shows here handling the rock and passing it.

Man he just explodes into a 2nd gear at times when he needs it and cradles the ball like Van Exel used to when busting through the line. Errrr .... well you know. :Crazyartest:

Wow Simmons or Ingram. Crazy. We are in the playoffs next year. We're back. What a young core. All these guys hungrier than hell and with a coach with a world class system to get the most out of them. Oh and that's ALL before [IMG]

even gets to his $60 million with which to work his magic.

I am just so so happy about the lottery outcome. Also, we don't have to worry about who to pick in a 2 player draft, just take whoever not picked by Philly.

A lot have been said on this thread about Ingram being the better fit and Simmons being the better player, so I'm not gonna repeat. I am happy with either. Simmons may lack a jumpshot, but at least that's something which can be developed over time. He has other stuff in his game which can't be taught: size, athleticism, basketball IQ and court vision.

Remember last year when we had the 2nd pick and many people were saying we will take whoever big not picked by Minny, but the FO decided to pick Russell instead? I don't think that will happen again this year given that there are only 2 standout prospects. What I believe will happen though is that we will end up drafting another guy not from Duke again ;)

Draft Express has Ingram going one and Simmons to us at #2.

So who's the more exciting stud coming out .... Wiggins or Simmons?

How's Simmons' defense? How was Wiggins' coming out?
