Sabonis continues to get next to zero conversation even at 3rd pick, but yeah Russ/JC and Hield looks pretty nice here too. But still too many people picking on Lou. WTF .... over?

Sabonis is not a 3rd pick to me. He's skinny, and his arms appear to be kinda short, he struggles against length same as Randle. I don't know if he's a PF, or a modern NBA C, but I don't see 3rd pick there, I see top 20 pick. I'm also admittedly not a big fan of Lou. He's an undersized SG, which makes him a liability on D, and I just personally don't like floppers that get to the foul line exploiting the rules like he does, ala Kevin Martin. I don't like it, that's just me. I don't have an issue if we have a real coach next season if he's used right and brought in as a spark off the bench to get some points, and he doesn't play with Russ and JC or whoever is starting SG at all. But those are a lot of "ifs".

I agree about sabonis. he shouldn't be on the lakers radar unless they're trading down (assuming they keep the pick).

I'm ok with lou staying around if the plan is to let jc run pg with the second unit. if it means dividing up guard minutes between russ/jc/lou/another pg, then something's gotta give.

Sabonis's tournament comes to a halt. In those three games, he averaged 36.3 minutes, 19.7 points, 14.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.7 blocks, 1.0 steals, and shot 25-44 on FGs, 1-2 on threes, and 8-10 FTs. He's brilliant in the post.

He's also flying up mock drafts. If you look at mocks from a few weeks back, he's in the 20s. If you look in the past few days, he tends to be in the top 10 now.

I don't need him to be strong, just strong enough. Durant is stronger today than when he got into the NBA.

^ Yep. Without a coach change, no offseason will be successful.

I like Hield, but no way I'm taking him at anything higher than three and even then there's a good chance I'd rather have Brown or Bender.

He could be a smaller Joe Johnson or he could be OJ Mayo.

^^ Yeah.. I was just thinking about fit IF we got players like Durant & Whiteside.. (Pipe)
Trust me, I'm down with Simmons, Ingram, Brown or Hield..

Ingram fits best with our team as is, but not IF (& I know I'm being totally hypothetical) we got someone like Durant.
I'd take Simmons in a heartbeat, but he does create a logjam at a position where we have a very promising young star already.

Part of me actually feels Brown & Hield might be the most NBA ready of the prospects.

Again just Pipe Dreaming.. & Ditto on the New Coach too.

I've been watching every lsu game this year and I would draft Simmons number one 100% the guy has all the tools to be a Laker great, court vision, can finish with either hand EQUALLY, athletic, strong, great on defense when he wants, and has decent jump shot mechanics, ooh and not too mention he's 6'10 and growing!!!! Hes a franchise changer. If he's off the board then Ingram is second...

You guys realize no one is in the same atmosphere as Ingram and Simmons right?

There's a BIG drop off in potential talent after those two

yeah but did Joe Johnson or OJ Mayo get better each and every year in college.... no. And if my memory serves me right OJ was just a one and done player. If anything it shows the kind of work ethic and serious Buddy takes to the game. But yes, I agree with you that Buddy is not a 1-2 pick, the highest I would take him is 3 and I'll keep saying this until I see someone change my mind in a workout. I take Hield with the 3rd overall pick

I like Heild, but I only do him if some other team is in love with Clarkson. Russell is untouchable IMO...unless it's for Westbrook, A. Davis or Curry. Durant is a FA or he'd be there too.

I'm just keeping an eye on all players to look at if we end up with the 3rd pick. You get 1 or 2, you know who you're going after, but 3 I think there are a number of guys to look at, and I don't think the pick has great trade value so you really have to look hard if this is a guy you're committing to for 3 years by taking. Hield finishes with 37 points, 8-13 on threes, a lot of which were NBA range and beyond.

Buddy Hield ain't no joke. NBA range. Size and strength. And that step-back is really unguardeable.
