Yeah, it seems Simmons has the physical advantage and Ingram has the mental advantage. We all know which is more important.

I'm not sure Wes ever had a bad attitude, but yeah that's a good way of looking at it. Wes always seemed earnest to me, he was just never able to get it together and put it on the court. I'm not sure how competent he is.

Yeah, Wes just has low basketball IQ Not exactly comparable to Simmons. When I read quotes like "I don't need to work on my J because I average 20 pts" that immediately triggers comparisons to Dwight.

LeBron came into the league with similar weaknesses to his game as compared to Simmons, so he definitely can grow mentally and work on his jumper throughout the years. There's no guarantee Simmons overcomes his major deficiencies, but he does have the potential to become an incredible NBA player.

That being said, I'm extremely happy we'll be drafting Ingram, who doesn't have the same cloud of doubt surrounding him since he seems very willing to work on any and all weaknesses (such as trying to bulk up).

Different year. There is no D'Angelo Russell this season. Also I vividly remember a number of reports having us going with D'Angelo and we did. Not the case this season. Anything can happen. Still I've or heard nothing to suggest anyone other than Brandon is gonna be the Lakers selection tonight.

Give me the much more skilled and mentally tougher guy any day of the week. Simmons has physical gifts so what, but he's not nearly as skilled as Brandon and seems to be a mental midget as well.

There's a Bender, Hield, and Dunn that are dark horses.

Not that I would prefer any of those players, but it's the Lakers who had the workouts, not us.

Wes was such an enigma. I always thought that he was about to turn a corner. Turned out he was, but he was running in a circle.

From the current talks it sounds like Dunn is going 3...just a matter of whether he'll be wearing a C Bags or 70centers jersey.

For us at 32, my gut says we take the best shooter available regardless of position.

We'll probably take Bender with our 2nd pick.

Speaking of Wes, id take him back for another vet min contract...could be good example for Ingram, as in see that's the type of career you'll have no matter where you were selected or the type of physical tool you have if you dont work hard on your gm lol

At 32, I hope we get Tyler Ulis. Draft Express has him going at 33, but I think he goes earlier.

I'd rather resign MWP than go with woeful Wes again.

It's not like the Lakers haven't gotten screwed by the league and other owners in recent times. What would be the fallout at this late hour and all the media already confirming Simmons, if Philly were to say we've changed our mind and are taking Ingram with our #1 pick?

DE has us taking Zipser who is an athletic wing type who can shoot a little bit. I'd say his ceiling is Parsons and his floor is maybe a poor man's Chase Budinger.

I am holding out irrational hope that DeAndre Bembry falls to us. He's a scoring wing with some athleticism. I see a gamer there, I don't know why his stock isn't up.

Other names I'd like to look at: Onuaku, Cornelie (@trodgers 's guy), McCaw, Thon Maker if he falls I'd be okay taking. Diamond Stone just for his name. If LeVert can pass a physical I'd strongly consider him. He's got a lot of talent, just a fragile body.

No fall out really. We'd get an insane athlete with terrific vision that we could slot in anywhere from 1-4 and I think he'd make an impact right away. I love Ingram's game, but we don't need to tear down Simmons to build up Ingram. Simmons has stud potential I just don't like his mentality. Going second could really help him get an edge to his game.
