Don't know too much about Hield, but I trust whoever the front office picks.

Very. If we take Hield, it will be because we have traded down and must have not been enamored with Ingram. Either way, I'd fully expect us to take Ingram.

If phily takes ingram, meaning we take Simmons, would you trade Randle for hield?

Absolutely not. I don't think Hield will be as good an NBA player as Randle. Unless I get a much greater return, I'm politely declining.

I'm going to make Simmons and Randle prove to me over the course of a couple seasons that they can't coexist. Until I see the evidence with a nice large sample size, I'm not trading either of them.

Maybe we're trading a package of Russell+ fillers, #2 pick and future considerations for Anthony Davis and the Pelicans' #6 pick. Then we sign KD in free agency. Just trying to make some sense out of drafting Buddy.

    Clarkson
    Hield
    Durant
    Randle
    Davis

    Right?

Lol. No way Pels give us the 6th pick too. It'll be just Anthony Davis. And interesting...I never thought of Anthony Davis as being available....but if he is....trade the farm for him and go after KD.

Anthony Davis is not available and if he were, no combination of possible picks or players that the Lakers have could make a package New Orleans would accept.

i think i was feeling this prior to the workout...the lakers see something in hield. i see it, too. real listed his range between mayo and redick, but i would say he's got the best of both, plus a work ethic neither can match. i would not bet against this kid.

that said, brandon ingram should be selected #2 in next week's draft. but if the lakers move down and pick up a solid player plus hield, i ain't cryin'. i trust the FO when it comes to the draft (FA strategy is another thing...).

anyway, i object to the jj redick ceiling, real. his ceiling is jimmy butler + redick's range. that's some badassery. his floor is oj mayo with a brain.

This is all just speculation from Ford, don't buy any of this, even Jim and Mitch said that dlo and the young guys are the future of the franchise recently and was excited to see them get better. I think lakers are just trying out players bc they want to make the sixers believe that Ingram isn't the possible second pick, that way they draft Simmons and we take the better player in Ingram. Everyone and their grandma knows their are only 2 players in this draft race... any team that passes up on Ingram or simmons deserve to get fired

Hell no. Wouldn't even consider it. Hield is a one trick pony. Randle will be a great all around player.

i might regret this: how, exactly, is hield a one-trick pony? it's ironic that you chose the same misguided phrasing that kareem used about dirk, btw...

when steph curry was drafted, he was a one-trick pony with fewer physical gifts and all the same question marks.

Are you serious? He's nowhere near Steph. He's a great shooter. Nothing more. Steph was way more well rounded just like Ingram. Horrible, horrible comparison.

If we don't draft Ingram, it's time to fire Mitch. There's no place for college loyalties in the professional level. He picked Russell over Okafor. Tried to get Sean May over Bynum. Just acts prejudicial to the Lakers because of his allegiance to UNC.
