    We're spoiled. It's only been 10 years. For every team not named the Spurs, Warriors, Mavs, Cavs, Raptors and Heat, it's been longer. Add Boston, Houston, Philly, Detroit and the Bulls to that list and it's been since the 70s.

    btw, winning doesn't absolve the organization for its issues shoring up the FO in the wake of Dr. Buss's death. jim and mitch made some big mistakes (those coaching hires...ick), and we were, in general, not aggressive enough looking outside the organization to infuse some innovation. ultimately, this led in part to having magic as an official part of basketball operations, which was a disaster. those of us worried about the rambii (myself included) just saw the pattern repeating.

    seems to me like once they let rob and his team handle the personnel stuff, things got in order quickly.

    anyway, this the countdown to the title thread.

    one more win. really didn't think we'd be here, tbh. i knew the team was good, but it just felt like it was going to be lac or the bucks all year. i thought we had a chance against both, but wouldn't be favored.

    there's something to be said for persevering, and this team has done it. just gotta show up big one more time.
