I don’t know what metrics ESPN uses, but their ‘tracker’ doesn’t have him in the running, which is surprising to me. https://www.espn.com/mlb/features/cyyoung I do like the NL front-runner though.
I didn’t even notice that. Is DeGrom still on the IL? The Dodgers never had to face him, thankfully. That may be the reason, cuz before he went down, he was throwing pills. And had a better batting average than Bellinger.
A special courtesy repost for you Angel fans: If any of you have the MLB app, you can watch all games for free today, except Dodgers and Angels of course
I can’t keep up with this dude, but at least my Angel fan dad updates me every weekend when we see him. He’s already at 20+ steals already, right? Unreal. Just think if he was healthy all these years in the US. Lordy. Edit: just watched it. Heads up play. It was close, but he was safe. And the Angels turn FIVE DPs against NY.
And he stole 2 bases last night. I marvel at guys the size of Trout and Ohtani and being as agile and fast/quick as they are. I mean these guys at their size make base stealing look easy
BTW no one mentioned here that he’s no Mike Trout. He went Kobe on the organization a couple weeks ago and wants it to step up or he wants out.
What does it mean to be "no Mike Trout" and to "go Kobe"? Saying that you want to win most of all and that you're disappointed seems sensible. What am I missing?
I just meant Mike has been one of the very best players in the game all these years and has been OK with not going “Kobe” on the FO for not putting a team good enough to have a chance to win a championship around him. Wasn’t a shot at either one honestly. They’re just different in how they’ve dealt with it.
Understood. That may be right. I'm not an LA guy, but I heard the Ohtani quotes. I imagine if Trout were saying the same, at least in public, I'd have heard it. Shame that team can't get anything else going. Those two are electric.
