We just need to get some wins whenever we can. You can't take any games for granted, I think in the two games with Chicago, and the NO, Dall, and Por games, we'll be heavy favorites, but you gotta handle your business.
Technically they are still in the play-in race. I know they are regretting trading that Grimes kid now.
how is it possible that the three teams behind us are all fully healthy and playing by far their best basketball of the season just as we lost half our roster to injury? just the sheer statistical unlikelihood...
True. 2 of them with old stars. But I'm pretty confident on this team and I think we will come on top and avoid the play-in. Would be nice to get 2 wins in our next 3 at home and then at least split the 4 game road trip. We then have 3 consecutive games with huge implications in our standings, at Memphis and hosting Dubs and Rockets. None in b2b and the last one with finally 2 full days of rest. Bron and Rui are hopefully back by then. It's really taking it game by game and see how it fluctuates between the 2nd and 8th seed
Still 3 games up on the Warriors, 3.5 up on the Wolves and 4 up on the Clippers. I think we're going to be okay. Would be awesome to get this game against Denver tonight, if we do I'd consider giving Luka and Austin the night off against the Bucks. I think we're going to see a big effort from our guys tonight.
Well, this would be a perfect time for Rui to suit up and play limited minutes then. He had a successful 3 on 3 practice and needs to get back in shape ASAP. Not to mention he posted this:
well that's a first. now it's a trap game can't let gordon, MPJ, or westbrick beat you. and i wouldn't be surprised if murray still subs in with 10 seconds left to hit the game winner
How do we have the tie breaker at 2-2? Conference? EDIT: got it So, the Lakers scored a total of 471 points, while the Nuggets scored 466 points in these four matchups but ChatGPT says it’s total points for the season against all teams lol Tiebreaker Process when Two Teams are Tied H2H records between the two teams are compared. (Best record wins) If the records are the same, we compare their Points For. If tied in Points For, we compare their IntraDivisional Record. If the IntraDivisional Record is tied, we compare Points Against. (Most points wins) If for some reason the teams remain tied, a virtual coin flip will determine the seed.
i think this is the actual tiebreaker stuff (do not trust the bots): they can't be banking on us winning the division, so maybe there's some math indicating that denver can't catch us in conference winning%? that also seems unlikely with 14 games left and each team having 8-9 within the conference. so yeah, can't see how we can clinch a tiebreaker unless they're just saying "as it stands". which is true, as we're currently leading our division and have the conference win% advantage.
The announcers were talking about this last night. Denver can’t win their division because OKC has that locked up. We are 4 games ahead of GSW right now, so let’s hope that holds. I don’t know how many more games we have against our division teams. Edit: just checked we have only 1 game left against our division, which is GSW.
right, but we haven't clinched the division, as division champ is by overall record, not intra-division record. once we've put the clips and gs behind us, we'd have the tiebreaker on denver. but that's looking too far ahead, imo. i think our schedule is tougher than most of our competitors', so i'm looking down more than up these days. i haven't looked at houston and memphis's schedules; i just know minny and gs and the clips could all gain ground.
It’s hilarious that he still thinks we’re scared of Denver. The OKC point is valid, but if the Lakers are healthy I don’t think they should be afraid of anyone.
I'm not avoiding anyone. But I do think the top two teams should meet in the WCF. Otherwise you risk having an injury send less than you conference's best to the Finals.
I'm so confused - I alwasy thought that if you split season series...that the conference record is the next tiebreaker? When did the division record ever matter for a tiebreaker when we're talking about a team that is not in our division?
