That said, I could see us actually getting off to a decent start given who we are playing

Agree. I like the schedule. Give Russell and Randle type to ease their way in. Last year, the beginning of the schedule was brutal.

They're a way more exciting team. Honestly if it wasn't for Kobe's probable farewell tour, we'd have even less national games than 19.

A few people? The entire league played the 82 games in about 3 less weeks back then if memory serves. 1 less round of playoffs and mini series were also in play for part of that time.

Once the TV contract started rolling in they began working the schedule around time slots and lengthened it to get more games in those slots. Added play offs etc.

I think it's laughable that a team can't play well in back to back games or in the old days back to back to back. It seems like an excuse for lack of focus.

To me it's like having a half time in a marathon because it's "hard". A great approach would be to take what looks like a disadvantage and make it an advantage.

Nov. 20th against the Raptors ... always looking forward to them and what Kobe has in store for them.

And good job to have the last game at home.

The Clippers are great TV. Like watching them choke in the playoffs, that is some excellent TV.

I like the heavy home schedule in March. Ideally most of our rooks will have taken their 1st season lumps by then, and will begin coming into their own and start giving our home crowd something to be excited about to end the season - similar to what Clarkson did last year.

Second most in the league I think is a product of the Great Defector going back and forth and causing a nationally covered ruckus. Without that they're probably a little lower too. Still though they've got arguably the best player in the three respective positions as much as we hate to think about that...

To add onto this... In addition to the Cavaliers traveling the least number of miles, they also have the easiest schedule. Meanwhile, Lakers have the toughest schedule. Just look at everything before the blue vertical line. Green = Cavaliers. Red = Lakers.

I'll be honest... I have no idea what I'm looking at. Those all look like numbers to me.

Oh ok. Yea, the chart might not make sense without some context / explanation.

So the chart to the left of the blue line is your strength of schedule for next year based on how teams performed last year. So in the image, you can see SOS (strength of schedule) and SOS rank. Cavs are ranked 30th, which means they have the easiest strength of schedule, while the Lakers are ranked 1st, which means we have the most difficult strength of schedule.

PYTH SOS is similar, but I believe that uses the points scored and allowed to determine your strength of schedule. The two stats are usually pretty close. Anyway, in that stat, we still have the most difficult schedule while the Cavaliers have the easiest.

Everything to the right of the blue line is a month-by-month breakdown of the team's SOS.
