link This is just another step in a long line of confusing moves by the franchise. New owner Vivek has his fingerprints all over the place and seems to consider the Kings his personal play thing instead of a real business/organization. This is the same guy that: - Sent his young daughter to the draft lottery last year instead of an NBA official. - Insisted on trying to play 4 on 5 because it worked for his daughter's high school. - Hired Vlade Divac for no real valid reason, taking authority away from D'Alessandro. - Insisted on drafting Stauskas instead of Elfrid Payton (the guy the FO wanted to take). - He's now trying to gain control of the upcoming draft and absolutely nobody in NBA circles knows who is calling the shots over there. Everyone in that FO thinks THEY are the ones with responsibility for the pick. Last week D'Alessandro thought it was his decision, Vlade thought it was his, and Vivek of course was a spectre that everyone expected to make the final call and get it wrong again. That organization really should have left Sacramento when they had a chance. Shaq ought to sell his shares and bail immediately.
No wonder Cousins is unhappy there...all the instability and dysfunction. I also question how O'Neal fits in with all of this too.
