    stats lie, yes this guy is a triple double machine but how did he adjust in hou? i consider his time the wiz a failure too. this late into his career and you think he can change his gm now? im not exactly sure whats hes doing out there thus far can be considered "playing well"

    i didn't say he wasnt talented but as you stated hes going to be a HOF playing this way all of his career, why would any 1 think he'll change all of a sudden?

    Because of what @pika1708 said above for one thing and LeBron’s ability to adapt to allow him to be most effective as he can be on this team for the second. Hopefully.

    Not a whole lot but he has a history of slow starts and there’s no way for him to go but up. I’m not daggering my stomach Russ can’t be better than

    :Schrooder Clown:

    … before the season even starts plus now we have a whole bunch of guys out so same thing for Vogel.

    I've written about how he changed his game pretty extensively in this thread in OKC with PG, in HOU with Harden and last year in Washington. He has consistently played well with other star players and moulded (to the point he could) his game to have success.

    Not sure why anyone is worried over preseason - we won all our preseason games last year and were in the play in while the Suns and Bucks lost all their preseason games and were in the finals. So I'm certainly not worried about an intelligent, vet heavy team that has a lot of new players and their performance in the preseason.

    I think a clear sign that Westbrook isn't giving his all in preseason is the fact that he is hardly rebounding and playing with low energy.

    It’s been well documented here that Russ struggled in the first half of his seasons in HOU and WAS and then came on strong in the 2nd half of each season. Prepare to be annoyed for a while if you haven’t been paying attention to that. I’m perfectly content living with a rough start if the pieces come together later this season.

    I also think that in the first games, we shouldn't run Westbrook with the bench. Either have AD there all the time, or run Lebron with them.

    I agree that he is the guy that should run that 2nd unit to save the other stars, but until he is on a level we can trust him on that, I think it can be bad for him and the team to do it now

    A lot of what we're seeing with Westbrook isn't ",just this is preseason;" it's been a trend his entire career.

    Now? Can he change that and pick spots on the floor where he can take advantage? I think so. And can we design plays that get him going downhill to pressure the rim? I think so.

    It just won't happen overnight.

    True but lets hope, thats all. I knew westbrook was gonna be a polarizing player for me, really frustrating at times, amazing at times. So far, its just been frustrating for me. We'll see.

    Clearly. There is an algorithm in Russ's head that goes...

    Code:
    if (preseason === true) {
        commitTurnover();
    } else {
        beHallOfFamer();
    }

    i lol'd.

    how does russ miss so many bunnies and convert some of those impossible flying lay-ins. that's another career long trend. almost better to let him go if he beats you, tbh.

    His preseason finale was easily his best outing so far. Thought we got a good look at at what Russ in transition looks like as a Laker while making smarter decisions. More attacking, less settling. Maybe he's getting more comfortable.

    Few passes stood out to me too

    That 2nd clip above with Russ's feed back to LeBron for the jam is where this awesome photo came from.

    We need to up the tempo when he's in..I'm still a firm believer that hes a great playmaker in the fastbreak. He can be dreadful in the half court and we will have some fugly halfcourt offensive sequences early on playing next to a non shooter like Lebron

    I wouldn't call LeBron a non shooter .... haven't we moved past that? Has lots of options what to do when he gets the ball and 36.5% last year from 3 and he's been over that 3 times in the last 9 years, or not too far below it, with only one exception in 2015.

    Lebron’s three is of low concern for opposing defenses is the point, I think?

    agree that Russ needs to run. And we seem keen on it.
