Nice one Rui! Locked in. Big baskets. Trying defensively. Still need some boards from him. Every Laker who played double digit minutes had at least as many boards as he did. Back to the good.... The 3 for the lead and followed by the slam... big time. He had a few strong man dunks, as well
Rui playing like MPJ for the Nuggets is nice. When he can hit the 3 he's gives the ingredients which makes that Nuggets 5 man starting unit cook - 3 point gunner whose hard to close out because he's so tall and if you get him the ball close to the basket or a clear path he's just so big and bouncy that he'll finish. Just rebound Rui!
Rui has some sneaky explosive dunks sometimes. He’s around the basket not going downhill and all of a sudden he springs up and has big hands to throw it down.
Rui just needs to figure out how to be a better rebounder. He has all of the physical tools and that's an area the teams needs help
After spending the summer with Bron and working with Handy as much as he did, he should've picked up something in that regard. In working with Bron, they're probably not running rebounding drills. But with Handy, maybe? Or at least I would hope it's something they gave him tips on or something
Sic Kurt on him to show how it was done in the old days. Or have …. oh I don’t know …. maybe someone like AD clue him in. That Guy can pull them down from all angles.
There's a lot to hate about tonight's loss... basically everything after the first quarter unless fake runs excite you. BUT before we spend the next two days rightfully s***ting on the squad I did want to give Rui his praise That's a beast of an offensive game. Really attacked well. Hit a few triples. Played the passing lanes well. I thought he did good against Sabonis when the team was taking this game seriously.
2 rebs in 33 minutes though, gotta do better than that Rui. And he's my guy. We can't keep relying on AD and Lebron, to get all the rebounds in every game.
AD you mean.. Lebron is inconsistent on the glass as well. I know he'll turn up the effort on the glass in the playoffs as usual though. But yeah, Rui needs to figure out how to rebound. Scoring was great though.
Rui is 6'7 and has good size..2 rebs in 33min isn't good. Davis had 11, James 5..Rui hasn't had a double digit rebounding game all season. Rebounding is a part of defense. Yasuke can score though, no doubt about that, the stroke is looking good.
5/16 is rough. Was hoping for a little better there. BUT making this when it was critical makes up for most of that He also had 5 boards, which for him is good. Shouldn't be but that's where we are.
For a 6’8” 230lb player he’s pretty damn explosive. Some of those new moves and spin moves of his, plus he can be on the ground near the rim and if you blink you might miss the sudden dunk that just happened.
I’m still a big fan of Rui. His combo of size and is rare and his scoring skills are excellent. If Vando were healthy I’d still start him over Rui for Vando’s D and rebounding and have Rui as the bench scorer. But imagine like last year the two of these guys splitting minutes and we would be pretty dominant.
I'm thinking that can be credited to the work with Bron and Handy. It does seem he's been dunking a lot more lately especially on the baseline drives. Only way I can tell if he makes a few of them is by the players reactions.
Great first half offensively. Needed boost until Bron was ready to crank it up in the 3rd. He punished them from the corner or inside with his size.
He's still lighting it up offensively. Averaging 12.5 ppg in 25 mpg with 52% overall shooting and 40% from three. Just get those rebounds up, Rui.
