Maybe someone like the Pelicans or Kings or Hornets could make SOME use of him. Looking at every team in the NBA, I just don't see any teams that have any use for him. It really is astonishing how far his stock has fallen. I'm trying to think of an instance that's similar. I mean, the dude couldn't even behave in a contract year. Maybe on the court you can't control how well you play due to other players actively working against you. But being a douche is completely in your control. He cost himself millions of dollars because he couldn't help from being a scumbag. How insane is that? To him, being a jerk was more important to him than millions of dollars.
i think he figured that how carlisle was going to use him was driving down his price anyway, so he tried to minimize the damage by not playing. bad move, though. and carlisle is a highly respected, championship coach. this isn't jeff bzdelik you're trying to walk over.
