Waits for therealdeal's thumb up or down. Assuming he has any prior awareness of the guy. Suppose I could read up myself. http://gunnarpeterson.com
“From his time in college at Duke University until now, Gunnar has pursued excellence in training and fitness,” said General Manager Rob Pelinka. “Gunnar is a true pioneer and visionary at his craft, and will bring a new mentality to our weight room which we are all very excited about. Since Magic and I have worked with Gunnar in the past, we have a strong relationship with him, which makes working together now feel seamless.”
Page 3 ? Short recap of a good interview: - Happy with Kuzma. Credit goes to scouting dept. - Won't say Ball has exceeded their expectations because they don't have any. Just setting bar high. - The ball movement is what Luke wants and they're going for players that move it and they expect this style to be what they play in regular season. - The goal was to win Summer League because greatness starts in small moments like this. - Kuzma shared with Pelinka and Magic that he had a rough upbringing and was homeless for awhile.
I liked what he had to say quite a bit, especially trying to win summer league, because we need to start somewhere and have our young guys stop feeling like losers. Also liked when he said the Lakers have in recent years relied on their history of greatness too much, and need to get away from that attitude to get better. That said, nice as it was to hear from him, I don't think we needed to have him interviewed for an entire quarter.
I think he knows some of the fan base is still not behind him.. Perhaps he was exposing himself trying to win over fans?
If the Lakers end up with Lebron and George next year, the Magic and Pelinka show takes on a whole new meaning. A line up of Ball, George, Ingram, Lebron and Lopez is a serious threat to GSW.
I'm anxious to see Pope play. If he plays great, and we decide to retain Lopez, I can see a scenario where we only pursue 1 max FA, and that it could be a wise choice. Too soon to say of course.
Have a feeling we are going to have a lot of Rob quotables over his Lakers career starting out with "Hey it's like that [plug in reference source here]..."
Disappointed in rob getting the fineble offense, i expected better, i can understand if it it was magic
