A few us thought the trade could work if we were able to snag Barnes too. I wasn't interested in Hield alone and honestly prefer Monk and/or Nunn (hopefully he comes back soon) to him.

yep. we fumbled schroder as an asset, imo. the second he turned down the contract extension, i feel like we should have traded him. and then in the summer we didn't really explore s&t options, from what i could see. that's a 15 million salary slot and a first round pick for which we have nothing to show. just bad all around. and some of that is on dennis, but again, management should have seen it coming.

and everyone hated gasol, but we needed a gasol replacement and instead went with bigs that were neither mobile nor skilled.

True, I wish we could have moved Schroder. Ah well.

Not using Schroder in a sign and trade was all a money saving exercise unfortunately. If we were Golden State we would of kept AC and gotten an asset from Schroder.

yeah, i have huge GS envy these days. i was foolish to think that was going to be last summer's plan, too. i fully expected keeping AC and THT and using DS in some way.

This past summer we had the goal of further preserving Lebron by limiting his minutes and finding a guy who can help shoulder the load on offense. Well that has failed. He's playing more minutes per game than last season and we're a complete mess when he goes to the bench.

We wanted to improve our shooting, so we went out to get shooters. Well right now, as a team, we are slightly worse than last years team in that department.

Oh and also, our defense has cratered.

The summer of 2021 looks to be a giant fail.

Not a great GM, he’s starting to consistently lose trades on the margins/in the long term.

both are backups not willing to accept they're backups.

and i'll never understand how lebron had success with mo williams and mario chalmers as pgs and then spent the rest of his career demanding floor generals.

If there is any truth to this, then our franchise is an even bigger pile of trash than I thought. An indefensible disgrace.

Honestly what did Jerry West expect when he tried to bury the franchise helping the Clippers steal Kawhi away from us?

If I was Dr. Buss's son, I'd honor the deal. With that said, West works for the competitor in the same building and... what CarolinaLakerFan said above. So, I get where the Laker FO is coming from. In that case, something other than text message would have been preferred.

I love the logo as much as anyone but come on now. That is no more petty than going to work for Clippers, trashing us to free agents, and helping take players from us.

Not sure I agree with Pelinka always being guilty by association whenever ownership does something cheap/petty.

But yeah, this story is definitely a bad look…

Yet Jerry is petty himself and not blameless in his squabbles with our organization. I would not be surprised if he is embellishing this story and putting it out there specifically just as a vendetta to make us look bad.

yeah, i mean, don't you have season tickets to the clippers or warriors or whatever rival you've chosen to assist?

i'd have sent a long letter to the times detailing the ways that he disrespected the organization and then donated his seats to needy families.

He's not even using those season tickets. Obviously, someone else in his family is and they are upset. Too bad.
