@therealdeal ..... holy crap what a giver and a lot of work you just put in recapping in print all of that. And I'm wondering why not just insist everyone watch this press conference. But then ..... ... and I may be full of s*** here I think I know why. You are actually documenting in easy to always reference format (Rob himself's thread) just what was spoken by those two new most key executives. It was impressive.
Here is the entire Press Conference to watch. I think its a must watch for all Lakers fans as an idea of what to expect moving forward: Absolutely loved what I heard from Rob and his vision for the next 5 years. Can't wait!
I'm just a giver LT. Trying to help anyone that couldn't watch it at the time but needed answers right away!
My guess is all of them. Sirron is MJ with his 5th title going for the second 3-peat. He might separate himself to the point where it will be impossible to out due his performance.
The whole thing sounded like these 2 will be causing miracles to be happened in no time and should reach sainthood by Summer's end.
They have one max contract to give, so, if Rob and Magic go into the summer and pull a Blake Griffin out of their arses, it's game over. The Lakers will be back and Paul George will be a Laker come 2018. All this and the Lakers wouldn't have to give up s*** either if they didn't want to.
If we sign Griffin, we would have to let a couple of our young guys go to sign George. The cap is not going to spike that offseason like the previous two offseasons. I think if we sign Griffin, we definitely move a couple of our kids for George this offseason. We might even move more than a couple and try to get another player in here that is closer to George and Griffin's age. We'd almost HAVE to move Randle or Nance. We can't have Griffin/Randle/Nance as our pf rotation. Maybe Clarkson, Randle and our top 3 pick if we keep it for George, then Ingram for someone else.
Yeah, I'm running with the idea of Griffin as well. I'm not a fan of his complaining, fake tough guy and flopping but he's an all star in this league. Russel/Ennis Ingram/Nwaba George/Brewer/Deng Griffin/Nance Zubac/Mozgov Not sure how salaries will work out here. Randle, JC and top3 pick for George. Nick and Black out. Needs shooters though.
I am actually confident Ingram's shot will fall more consistently next season with a little more strength. I do worry about Ingram playing sg on defense though. He'd be giving up A LOT of speed. Not sure longer his reach could compensate. George would likely have to take the other team's sg unless we're facing a team with an elite sf like Lebron or the Spurs.
All this Griffin talk is disturbing. If he couldn't even get past the second round with PG3, Jordan, and a bunch of really good role players he had on the Clippers, why should we believe he could get it done with the Lakers and PG13? He's had the supporting cast around him for years and failed.
