I didn't see her list, but I'd imagine her list, like many fans, is basically of the modern era. Since her father took over when Magic was drafted, that was all post West. I don't read too much into that, but it would have been a great show of respect. But if him, then who gets left off? Was someone else from his era on there? my guess is she said Kobe, Shaq, Phil, Magic, Kareem Hard to diss that list either if you only get a top 5
Her list was Kobe, Kareem, LeBron, Magic, and Phil Jackson. So no, West should have been on it, as much as LeBron has done for the franchise, West did 10 times more.
I guess “Most Important” is that subjective get out of jail free card. and nobody on this list yelled at her father “now are you going to pay me?” during a preseason game Lol.
Despite my doubts in her abilities, Jeanie has always been a nice person. For her to treat West this way for this long (started somewhere in 2000s I would guess), there must have been a reason. Considering that West had a temper and wasn't necessarily the most gentle person.... I have doubts that he is clean. Just for the sake of an argument, imagine him calling her a "b...." or some other derogative. Would you expect her to be all nice to him, still? Something had had got to give... This type of behavior is out of character for her... from what I've seen over the years.
I agree with this. For all of Jeanie’s flaws as a decision maker, I’ve never seen her be petty. I could see her holding a grudge against Jerry if he did or said something about Dr.Buss as well as if he said something derogatory to her. Her father is her hero.
Maybe he called her out for dropping her saddle on company steeds. Maybe he called her out for posting stupid s*** like walking with her dogs instead of focusing on basketball business. I don't give a s*** how mean Jerry West was. He produced. And he produced 75% of the f***ing worth of her franchise the last 45 years. Lakers are no where near the brand they are without Jerry West. Jerry West is the man and will always be the man.
