I get he works his players too hard and runs them into the ground, you can't do that anymore. Different league these days. But he's still an elite coach, one of the best defensive minds the game has to offer. Maybe he'd be willing to be a little more lax on his standards if he has an actual relationship with his front office and management. I've never seen a franchise that repeatedly treats multiple great coaches as s***tily as the Bulls. Not comparing the talents of Phil to Thibs, but they are notorious for their prickly attitudes towards their coaches. Don't understand why. He lacks good X&Os, the offense can look atrocious at times. Ball sticking. Not able to find the rim for 6 minutes at a time. But he can get the most out his role players. Hell, he's gotten large contracts for several of his backup PGs. And look at a guy like Snell who's come along nicely during their rash of injuries. I think anything short of the Bulls making it to the Finals and he gets canned unfortunately. He won't have any problem finding a job, but I'm not sure of any available/up coming openings that wouldn't be a massive step backwards for him.
Thibodeau re-uniting with Glenn Rivers is a possibility but I would think the former would want a bigger gig than just being someone else's underling again.
