Wow, I was sure he was going to the Nets for Lopez. Nice get for SVG. Not sure how he fits with Jennings long term though.
guessing that's the end of perkins's career unless some team picks him up as a vet presence so long you fat ugly douche. one of my all time least favorite players
Yea he will go to the Paperclips. Good place for him since I can just lump him in with the rest of the players/coaches I don't like.
OKC did a hell of a job of acquiring a bench today. They ended up with Augustin, Novak, Singler, and Kanter. Good moves for a post-season push.
Definitely. I don't know how they did that by really only giving up Reggie Jackson; a guy that was under-performing and that they weren't going to pay this summer. Crazy.
Not to mention that Jackson hasn't exactly been a great locker room teammate and with his decreased role since they got Waiters, a 4-1 involving actual rotation players (team guys) is a steal. Personally I don't see why teams are falling over themselves for Jackson. He has talent, but damn! I don't think he's worth the $14m+ he'll get this summer and the fact that there were up to 5 teams at the finals minutes of the deadline trying to get him...I'm missing something.
OKC has like 69 million in commits this offseason and Kanter is due to get paid or overpaid by someone I should say. I will laugh if OKC lets him walk rather than go into luxury tax. I mean they wouldn't pay Harden, why would they pay Kanter?
I actually think his talent is up there with all the other young PGs that are going to be paid in that 14 million range, but like you said he's got some attitude problems. OKC is one of the easiest teams to get along with, it's a little strange he wouldn't embrace that team.
@Doc Brown He has yet to play any real minutes (don't count playing meaningless time for a bottom feeder) so his value is still a question mark. They'll have 3 months to evaluate him and see if he's worth the price he'll command. OKC's window is shutting quicker by the day. They had to get a center if they were serious about a playoff push this year. It was Kanter or Lopez. Kanter was cheaper, has more potential, and doesn't get hurt every other week. And so what if he doesn't re-up? They weren't keeping Jackson anyway and Kanter actually fills a big need and they get more depth out of the deal to boot.
For OKC. Loss for us. Not like we had a realistic chance at acquiring KD but this just makes it even less likely he leaves OKC.
I don't think Augustin will be the reason he stays or leaves. If we build an attractive team by 2016 and backup the Brinks truck, I think we've got a shot at him.
Great trade for OKC. I didn't like the hype around Reggie Jackson. Augustin isn't much worse for this team imo, and Durant has a much better relationship with him. Getting rid of Perkins = automatically a huge bonus. Novak + Singler = big help in spacing / shooting. OKC is 25th in 3P% right now. These two can be a huge help in that department.
My post wasn't about Kanter or what he brings this season. It was about how cheap OKC is. They don't like the luxury tax, but will have to go into the luxury tax to keep him if he works out. I wouldn't be surprised if OKC lets him walk or trades him rather than pay him, even if he balls out.
