I think that his offense would contribute more to winning than Gabe’s defense has. You guys know that one was hard for me to type, being a defense first fan, but there’s no denying that Olivari has shown real talent.
You have to get him minutes with the Lakers at some point. That shooting is too good not to give it a look with AD and Lebron. He shot well in college so there is a good chance it will keep translating
Lakers have literally a million flawed guards (Dlo, Gabe, Max, jsh, Knecht) and one really good one in AR. They need to dump some these guards in a trade to get more defense and size. Olivari frankly looks like he could do better mostly because these dudes.have been so mediocre it's worth a roll of the dice
I hope he makes it impossible to ignore him in the G league and we give him some burn. We need regular minutes for Max, Knecht, and Q to be the best version of ourselves and be ready for the playoffs.
Who’s going to want our extremely flawed guards? I think only DLo will hold some value at the deadline as an expiring contract.
I think we may be holding him until mid December because he's on a 2-way and can sign a normal contract with a team at any point, if I'm not wrong. So we are waiting to open a roster spot to bring him to the big guys I was looking and the Raptors (for Brown) actually can make a ton of sense. They don't have a backup PG, Davion Mitchell is not really an organizer and they have only Barnes and Quickley doing that. I think DLo could help unlock Barrett and d*** to more efficient games. Even Quickley can learn from DLo as he needs to develop on that end too. We may need a sweetener because they are both expirings (JHS? Max?) and unless Toronto sees DLo for the mid term (which is not crazy), they'll want a better return from Brown, I believe other teams may make a better offer. I don't want to send a pick, but I would definitely explore this. Even Rui can fit well there for the future too. Let's pray they believe in a couple of our guys
Guard Quincy Olivari, an undrafted rookie out of Xavier University, had another strong game. He shot 6-of-13 from the field and 3-of-6 from 3-point range to score 24 points, and he also dished off nine assists. I am waiting to see him on Tuesday vs Utah
I like what I’m seeing so far, and it looks like he brings some attributes that we could use on the varsity squad
