Presidential Election Aftermath: What Now / What Next?

So Bush was their pick to be the Republican nominee?

 

I have seen ONE bumper sticker supporting Hillary. I have a friend who likes Bernie and he said he'd vote for Hillary if she's the nominee. Other than that, I don't know one single Hillary supporter.

How is she doing it? is that DNC that powerful?

 

I assume it's the same as I mentioned pages back in this thread with Trump. People are going "oh, Clinton, I know that name, her husband was the last good president they say, and she's been on Saturday Night Live, she's got my vote!". People are dumb, and then you put them in large groups, and it goes to another level of dumb.

It would, but IMO, majority rules. As much as I dislike Trump, he should get the nomination if he has the majority. GOP establishment hates him as much as liberals do, but I don't like a contested convention. Just like I don't agree with the Dems super delegates being able to switch votes on a whim. They're taking the vote away from us, the people who are supposed to decide these things.

 

I still would like to sit down and speak with a Trump supporter. The media portrays every Trump supporter as an ignoramus with a sloping forehead and slack jaw likely married to a cousin or something, but that simply cannot be the truth. There's too many people voting for him right now for every one of them to be morons. I want to know what they're seeing. I want to know what goes through their head.

I know what goes through a Hillary supporter's head and it's equally stupid, but I've seen a few of them.
I know what goes through a Sanders supporter's head and while I find it idealistic I can respect what they're seeing in him.
I haven't seen many Cruz or Casich supporters actually, but I think I have a good idea of who they are.

WHO IS VOTING FOR THIS MAN? I'd love an interview. Unbiased and fair where I just pick their brains to see what exactly they think makes Trump the next President of the United States.

 

I am not a Trump supporter, but I know a few. My next door neighbor is a Trump guy. My neighbor is a smart guy. He runs his own ISP business. He sees some of Trumps warts, but he is willing to ignore them for one reason. He sees in Trump a guy who will cut through all the Washington DC BS and "get things done." It's really that simple. Every other candidate still standing he sees as a typical politician.

 

I assume that's the general consensus on why people like him, but what makes them think he can do the things he says? What makes them think he actually believes in those things he's saying? Every other debate he's changed his position on certain issues. He has no concrete ideas or plans to fix the economy, just generalizations.

And what about his character flaws? I know every candidate has character flaws, but his are so strong and obnoxious how can anyone relate to him?

 

Because he is going to make America great again. Duh.

 

Well, his character flaws are more of him being an a--hole in general. Hillary has been investigated criminally multiple times.

If it comes down to Trump vs Hillary and CA is actually close enough to where my vote could matter, I will vote for Trump. Like TIME said, it comes down to the politician in Hillary. Trump doesn't owe anybody any favors. I watch House of Cards and I know Hillary plays the same types of games the Underwoods do. I'm not saying to the extent to where Hillary has pushed someone in front of a train, but she is no doubt playing favors against other favors against other favors. Trump could be an unmitigated disaster, but at least I know he will attempt to do what's best for American businesses since he owns several of his own. But in other elections I've voted 3rd party. I will likely do the same in this one unless Hillary is indited two weeks before the election making her completely beatable in CA.

 

If I had a gun to my head, I'd also vote Trump over Hillary but I don't and I don't think I can vote Trump unless something drastically changes. He's a clown. He's not the kind of person who I could vote for and be proud of it so I don't want to vote for him.

 

I won't vote for either Hillary or Trump. Probably going to be the first Presidential election I miss.

 

It's Bernie or nothing for me.

 

Both Cruz and Rubio said if Trump is the nominee they will not vote for him.
