More than anything, it's idiotic that there's a Federal law against weed. That's the real problem that needs correcting. Kick that to the states for them to decide.

Same reason why doctors keep feeding people with pharma drugs is the same reason the government keeps feeding weed users to the jails, policeman, judges, shrinks, etc. Its a business. You legalize weed, lots of jobs and lots of spots in prisons go away. And all those politicos in cartel pockets lose money from all that worthless brick weed they keep sneaking in here. Weed enforcement is a business. I guarantee you if you would have fast forwarded prohibition 80 years, alcohol would still be illegal.

Probably still 10-20 years away from this going away. Never the less, its still being enforced now.

Outstanding speech tonight. Dare I say, "presidential."

But this moment stole the show.

I may or may not have teared up.

Yeah, I don't agree with that. And a 37% cut to State Dept budget.

I was calling for a reduction in government spending, maybe especially in the military, so... needless to say I didn't like hearing that. :D

I thought the call for a trillion dollars on infrastructure interesting but had me thinking... where's this trillion coming from?

"Disgraced Trump adviser Mike Flynn admits he worked as a “foreign agent” for the Turkish government

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, who was fired in February after lying about his contacts with the Russian government, has formally registered with the Justice Department as a “foreign agent” and admitted that he had lobbied on behalf of the Turkish government as recently as November 2016.
As the Associated Press reports, Flynn’s lawyer filed paperwork with the Justice Department Tuesday disclosing that the retired Army general had done lobbying work between August and November 2016 that “could be construed to have principally benefited the Republic of Turkey.” According to the filing, Flynn’s company, Flynn Intel Group Inc., was paid at least $530,000 for the work.
Flynn’s contract ended on November 15, just three days before Trump appointed him national security adviser.
Still, the disclosure that Trump’s top campaign adviser on all issues of national security and foreign policy was receiving money to lobby on behalf of a foreign power all the way through Election Day isanother black eye for Flynn, who has the rare distinction of having been fired by two US presidents (Barack Obama ousted him because of his mismanagement of the Defense Intelligence Agency). The FBI is also continuing to probe Flynn’s communications with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in the aftermath of the election...."

I can only imagine the outrage had this been the other side of the aisle...

Anyone who's followed politics for more than 5 minutes knows both sides feign outrage when the other side does something and ignores it when they do it.

Case in point: The Left has gone bonkers over Ben Carson saying slaves were immigrants, but conveniently ignoring it when Obama said the exact same thing. The Right is glowing over the recent unemployment rates, but ignoring the out of the workforce numbers. Goes both ways. Always has. Always will.

    Implicitly.

He called the slaves that were being transported on the bottom of ships were immigrants.

His argument is definition, that people moving to one country to another are all "immigrants." I guess even if it's against their will, whether they were "sold" or not.

Let's just say his PhD isn't in Human Rights.

    Selective outrage.

No one complained when Obama said it.

Obama mentioned that it was involuntary immigration. Did Ben?
