I'll be surprised if this actually happens tomorrow.

From an Australian perspective, back in 2016, we Australians (even conservatives) were worried about Trump and what his presidency could mean for the world. Until he was in power, we were unable to separate the (political) chauvinism coming from his mouth versus the more pragmatic policy decisions he made on the job. But on the flip side, there were also worries about Hillary Clinton and how corrupt the Clintons are. During the Bill Clinton era, he was very popular in Australia, but hindsight has exposed a lot to dislike about the Clinton era, and their many shady involvements.

Moving on to 2020, I would still say many Australians think Trump is a racist (especially the liberals), but there is also a growing respect for how measured and useful he has been for these times. How excluding a bombing of Syrian targets (which seemed to be based on intelligence he previously ignored), he has largely appeared to be his own man keeping the military and bureaucracy out of his way compared to how past Republicans and Democrats operated.

What many people do not understand about Trump is he represents a core of Americans that, even after many voted for Obama twice, were disillusioned with the direction of the country. The democrats and the liberal media think these people are racist, yet, many of these people voted for Obama twice. People need jobs, and many people are growing sick of the ever expanding cultural marxist agenda of the elite. Trump was the only person with the audacity to stand up to the elite, that previously loved him, and say, enough is enough. He has lot most of his celebrity friends, and the respect of the liberal dominate media. But that is the price one must may for stopping this ever growing cultural marxist and post-modernist madness.

I really hope Trump gets re-elected, so we can see the results span over 8 years.

Trump didn't win in 2016 because he appealed to racists. He won because the Democrats abandoned blue-collar union workers. The same people Clinton won over in the 90's. Michael Moore (who I don't care much for) kept warning about this to left-wing news outlets, but was constantly ignored. Instead of acknowledging that Hillary ignored the rust belt, the left-wing media called these blue-collar voters racists because many of them were white. Nevermind that these voters cast ballots for Clinton and Obama. The Democrats' support for policies that favored China and illegal immigrants pissed them off. Manufacturing plants were opening in China and closing in this country. And what little manufacturing jobs were left were employing immigrants instead of Americans.

What did I say... many who had voted for Obama then voted for Trump. The left would call them racists, yet, they voted for Obama twice before they voted for Trump.

I certainly think a lot about this. I personally think his actions hint that he is separated.

I voted for Obama. Why? Because Mitt lost me when he said that the other 47% who pay no federal income taxes are not who he is fighting for. Mitt Romney was a terrible candidate, frankly.

I recently found out that my neighbor is a Trump supporter. Because I live in NYC, you want to be very careful about supporting a Republican. Even if it weren't Trump, I'd wager that for the foreseeable future, any support of a Republican = automatically racist, xenophobe... you get the drill.

He talked about how he used to be a carpenter making solid money but had to retire once illegals flooded the industry and since his boss was not willing to hire illegals, their business wasn't able to keep paying the workers the money they used to. He's still fairly young at his late 50's since most carpenters work well into their late years but he's one of many who have lost their jobs in the construction and labor-intensive industries such as carpentry, roofing, etc., Politicians allowed illegals to enter this country, cost us hundreds of billions per year, and then want to put these displaced workers into government programs? It seemed not long ago, there was at least a consensus in the government that illegal immigration is not good for this country. That stance no longer exists for the Democratic party. They want illegal immigration. In fact, they need it. To the Democrats, it is no longer about solving the problems of the United States but rather, they want to keep more power. Nancy Pelosi, career politician, wants more government funding and power so she can continue giving her friends government contracts. How else did she become incredibly wealthy?

Republicans want it simple: Government protects the rights of people, people keep more of their $, people spend their money on what they see fit.
Democrats want to take more of your money, keep people living under government welfare so they can continue voting for higher government benefits, and allow illegal immigration so those illegal immigrants can then raise future Democrats thanks to their very lax immigration policies.

It's a no-brainer. One party wants to help Americans, the other wants to help themselves.

While I agree with the Democrats part completely, I think your description of the Republicans is more of a description of the Libertarian party at this point. I have always leaned a little right, and while the Republicans say they are the party of smaller government and lower taxes, I just see both parties as two sides of the same coin that say one thing to remain in power and get elected, then grandstand in the wonderful gridlock of Washington. Trump is different in that he at least is trying to do his agenda. But he's an a-- hole so it makes it really hard to objectively look at his policy.

Most Republicans are like that. It's just the Democrats have turned this into a spending contest and so if the money is there, it has to be reallocated somehow. I would agree that both sides are just playing the same game but Democrats are just playing it better at this point.

My dad works in the construction industry. According to him, salaries for many construction workers hasn't changed since the 80's. So many of the contractors turned to immigrants (illegal and legal) because Americans won't take such low salaries.

One of MANY problems that can happen with mail-in-ballot on a national scale. Also people can SELL their ballots now. I would not be surprised if there was a blackmarket for mail-in voting now. But hey, we're the crazy ones and everyone who questioned the legitimacy of it are just conspiracy theorists, right?

I mean, why hire Americans when you can:

    1) Pay illegal immigrants much lower
    2) Don't have to report and pay taxes for your illegal immigrant workers
    3) Don't have to pay for their health benefits
    4) Illegal immigrants work crazy and long hours because they are afraid of losing their job if they decline. They never complain because they can't.

And then taxpayers foot the bill for illegal immigrants and the displaced worker who now has to rely on government benefits. The only one people who benefit are the business owners and the politicians who allow it to happen... Welcome to America.

So Hillary didn't just pay for the Steele dossier to dig up dirt on Trump. She crafted the entire Russia Collusion narrative. HRC, Obama, Brennan, Clapper, Comey and others could all be charged for treason.

That was easier to watch than the Democrat debates. But that's not saying much.

Trump won only because he looked like he was still alive, while Biden was just spouting talking points.

Trump's interruption tactics are only effective if he has zingers to lay down on his opponents. Nothing he said to Biden tonight was particularly memorable.

That was a terrible debate. Yikes. All jokes aside, I think this validates how malfunctioned this country is atm.

Chris Wallace asked some pretty terrible questions that were designed to create an argument rather than productive conversation. Yes, both candidates weren't respecting the rules of the debate but I just felt it was poorly constructed to begin with.
Both candidates attacked each and lied about each other rather than focus on the issues.
Biden was much better than I thought he would be mainly because people were just glad he could make it to the debates.
Trump wasn't good. He had multiple opportunities to attack Biden's record and didn't do so. When they tried to make it seem like Trump supported racism, Trump missed a wide open opportunity to attack Biden's previous statements made towards blacks. Trump didn't speak about the prison reform and the good things he has done to help black people such as opportunity zones. Instead, he kept attacking Biden irrationally. The '47 years in government' is a signature attack that would work flawlessly vs Biden but wasn't used enough.

Bad 'debate' at the end of the day. Biden wins by default just for showing up and looking semi-coherent. Trump loses because he had multiple opportunities to defend himself and legitimately debunk Biden but instead, chose to ramble about useless talking points.

Here's the funniest part, though, about how corrupt CNN is:

Jake Tapper goes on CNN to talk about his friend's sixth grader running to her bed and crying because of something Trump said? What the hell is this junk?
