Interesting that the numbers support the idea that Julius is a good man defender, but that Brook isn't all that efficient in the post. These types of numbers are always pretty interesting, but I get more from watching than I do from the numbers.
I totally agree, I think both should be incorporated in evaluating players or a team, but I definitely would put more weight overall in the human eye test. I just thought this was interesting and helpful because he explained what the stats were and in some cases how they compared to last year. Yes, it is just pre-season.
The key is being able to determine actual causes to the numbers and I'm not sure he is diagnosing issues with the right analysis. He says we may be overhelping which is leading to open threes, but I think our weak side just isn't smart enough on the help. They're often caught watching the action instead of making a decisive defensive play. Either go to help or stay attached, but I see our guys often just floating around the perimeter.
