20-30. Growing pains will happen with Ingram, Randle still hasn't found a role, where to use Lou remains an issue, and Deng seems too slow for a starting 3 now. If Luke can find some lineups that really work and we can stay relatively healthy I say high 20'a, but if our vets like Calderon, Deng, and Mozgov miss extended time, it will cost us some games. Calderon with the bench unit gives me much more confidence, as would Deng playing the 4. I also don't expect Nick to keep up this level of play and sadly I expect Nance to miss time with injury. Still, 25 to 30 wins is certainly a step up from 17. And even in our losses I expect us to actually be IN a lot more games, way less blowouts than under B0ron. We didn't win a lot in preseason, but I felt the games were more competitive and entertaining.
I think 30 is s good over/under. 35 would be optimistic with a touch of realistic. 25 is disappointing yet realistic. I expect us to be competitive in 60 of so games, with us unable to finish a lot of those.
I think the range is 24-30. Low end to high. The west is tough, few teams are worse than us league-wise. We were too young and just got younger. I think the biggest drought will come early in the season and they will hopefully start to jell after the all-star break. Above 30 is really, really good.
all this. you tend to focus on your own team: our coach is better! our young guys are older! the kobe farewell tour is over! but everyone else is improving as well. is there another team in the league whose fans think the lakers are better than them? maybe brooklyn? maybe philly? i could imagine a world in which phx, sac, den, bkn, phil, orl, and nop are worse. but that's a harder world to imagine than the one wherein most of them are better. let's just enjoy the low expectations and hopefully see some reasons for increased optimism going forward.
Of course not. Fans never think their team isn't gonna be as good or is gonna be worse. This whole temper expectations thing a lot of people say is silly as far as the team goes. What we say is gonna happen has no bearing on what's gonna happen. None at all. The fans expectations have zero impact on what happens on the court this season.
But it might have a massive impact on how soon into the season you're pulling your hair out or making final arrangements.
You must be on this medical weed or something ;-). There's no scenario where i can see us making the PO...
