As promised, I would add something else other than junk food. It's hard for me to remember to take the pic before I eat, but here ya go before I chow down. Sauteed veal chop alfredo, with a side of steamed spinach. Dirk cup full of water.
Inventor of the sandwich. Gambled so much, he had no time for a regular meal. Or at your talking about a place?
I had one of these in Disneyland Paris in November, it was ok, going to Rome in a couple of weeks, so I'll definitely post up some pizza/pasta/gelato etc. Edit - Also wanted to go to ChickFilA as the sauce is meant to be great, which all of you seem to be confirming.
Yes, they have one at Downtown Disney (shopping area between Disneyland and all the Disney hotels) few miles from me. It's pretty good, I like their mac n cheese and their holiday turkey sandwich. In fact I liked that sandwich so much that it gave me an idea for a thanksgiving casserole combining 4 or the major thanksgiving foods into one dish. Made it a few thanksgivings ago.
Man that makes the whole thing, otherwise it's all starch and a little dry. I don't like pure cranberry "sauce" so it's like one can sauce, one can cranberry jelly.
I have no idea if these places still exist, but Golden Bird, and Pionere Chicken were my crack when I was growing up in LA. I still think about the delicious delicious greasy goodness of their chicken, and the little Dixie cup of pickles from Golden Bird lol There was still a Pioneer Chicken in Mid City LA like 4 years ago, but no idea if they're still around.
There was a Pioneer Chicken like 4 miles from my house for years and years, but within the last decade it slowly deteriorated with the neighborhood around it, and was replaced by something else. Then that place was replaced in the last year with a Waba Grill, which I don't eat.
Pioneer Chicken was what me and my folks considered fine dining when we came to this country. Never heard/seen of Golden Bird. Never tried Popeye's either. Now there's Juan Pollo which kick's El Pollo's behind IMHO.
