Don't get me wrong, I'd love to hit 40 wins, but I think that's more reasonable next year. I think we will be competitive and in most of the games this year, but ultimately come up a little short. Close Losses this year will be victories next year.

Agreed. If RJ Hunter is as good a shooter as ppl claim, he warrants a look. But we're full at 15 aren't we?

No worries, we're one up on sirron. We could always pull the Bender-over-Ingram card on him.

How did he look in the game versus the Lakers by the way? I didn't get a chance to watch it. Does he look like he's going to be something good?

Didn't some armchair gm (thats a phrase right?) say we should trade Russell for RJ Hunter?

Honestly I wasn't paying much attention but he didn't leave an impression. It was an ugly game in general, by both sides.

Can we at least grab him for the D-League? He was the guy I was hoping to drop to the second round where we draft Crazy Eyes.

Now that we waived Brown, I'd love for us to go get RJ.

Anything out there better than Huertas and Robby.

I saw you bump huertas, trob and metta's threads... I'm just curious what you expect out of the 13th, 14th and 15th players on a team. These guys basically don't even suit up in uniforms most nights. They are third stringers, so they are the backup's backup and I'd warrant they are some of the best in the league in that role. They might play 50-150 mins a season, not sure it's reasonable to expect anything substantial from the end of the bench guys, we should be grateful we have 2 positive influences and a young high energy garbage man.

Also, for the record... if you look at the end of bench guys at some of the best teams in the league, our 13th, 14th and 15th can hang with any of them:

GSW: Damian Jones, Patrick McCaw, Javale McGee
CAVS: Jordan McRae, DeAndre Liggins, James Jones
LAC: Brice Johnson, Diamond Stone, Alan Anderson
ATL: DeAndre Bembry, Taurean Prince, Ryan Kelly
TOR: Free Vanvleet, Delon Wright, Bruno Caboclo
SAS: Bryn Forbes, Dejonte Murray, Davis Bertans

But this is fantasy Laker land, where we can trade our trash for another team's treasure. We have "The Wand"

I'd like to see Mitch hit up Sac for Cassipi. He probably could do what we expected out of Deng with bit better 3pt shooting potentially. He's expiring as well.

can't remember the last time a waived player who wasn't obviously ring chasing made a big difference in a team's fortunes. if the lakers had a vacant roster spot, i'd probably keep an eye on the waiver wire, but on a young team, there's only so much on-court development time available.

Yeah. We cut Anthony Brown and kept Metta because of how young we are. We have young players at every position, and more than one at some (Zubac/Black, Randle/Nance). We went to 15 on the roster which Mitch typically doesn't do. He usually leaves a spot open. I think that tells us, barring some trade out of left field or a serious injury where we have a big hole to fill, the team on opening night will be the team all season.
