A lot of people care, this is a great hire. The Lakers this summer were attached to good coaches again outside of the Laker tree, that's a great sign. There were breif rumors of them targeting other high level execs for their President of Basketball Ops job, another good sign. Handy will be helpful developing our players and hopefully will help build cohesion on a team thrown together (which usually loses to teams that have been together a while).
Phil Handy along with Seto will be amazing for Boogie's rehab, along with keeping AD and Bron's groin from prematurely blowing out (pause) till the real season starts in April. I love this hire and I think it works have been that much better if we had Lue here as the HC/OC with Vogel as our DC. Either way, it's a solid hire and I'm happy he chose us instead of following Kawhi to the cLips. As for the Prez search, I don't think we really approached that sincerely. No insider was reporting that we did, with Myers, Riles and West all stating that the Lakers never approached them for the gig.
I was pretty shocked to learn that over 3 years Lue's record when Bron had to be out of the lineup (with Kyrie on the roster for the first 2) was a sterling 0 wins and 18 losses! Watch, this guy will never again get a HC position in the NBA. Biggest mistake of his basketball career.
Agreed! Kuz is already 10x better than Siakam at this same stage offensively. Need him to step it up defensively and rebounding.
All we need to know about Phil Handy above and fantastic he has a history with us. So good to see Kobe pre-injury working, Pau in background these images. Sucks to see Sacre.
Wow. Darius Morris, Jordan Hill, McRoberts, Steve Blake, Goudelock, Ebanks, (KOBE!) Those are names you haven't heard in awhile. Crazy to see how far we've came since then.
BUMP. WTF? Seriously last post on Phil Handy was Oct. 17 and he's buried on page 4. Hope to hell HE doesn't lurk on LB and feel disrespected and not appreciated here. Lakers need to keep this guy and pay what it takes if the Nets come trying to steal him away. Bron had him in Cleveland too, so hope they ask his opinion as well.
