Rose is over-compensating and has now become an Allen Iverson clone who misses more than AI

I think Pau's impact has definitely been...overstated. The Bulls are not the same team defensively at all...and you gotta think that with Pau's defensive woes here, it's mostly his fault. While he has brought more offense, the Bulls identity on DEFENSE has completely changed, and that's bad news for a Thibodeau team. I dunno, they really need to stop playing Pau like 39mpg, or better yet all of their players SO many minutes. They are deep enough to where they dont NEED to do that. I don't know why they haven't gone the Hawks/Spurs route in terms of playing players less minutes or even resting some players on some nights. Thibs days are numbered IMO....

Pau certainly isn't a good defender, but neither is Boozer. Some Bulls fans that I talked to actually say that they were "pleasantly surprised" by Pau's defense. It's still bad, but they were expecting Boozer-level defense. Also, the best lineups for the Bulls have been with Pau.

    There are some problems though.
    1. Pau and Noah aren't a great fit.
    2. On that note, Noah has regressed a lot this year as a player. It could be because he's trying to adjust to a new role with Pau. It could be injuries or fatigue. He dropped off a lot on both ends of the court, and it shows.
    3. Taj also hasn't been the same player.
    4. Players are tired. It's not just a single season thing. It's a cumulative effect. Pau is also playing too many minutes at 35.2 mpg. Butler is basically playing 40 mpg.
    5. Rose is back, but he's been very inconsistent.

Pau's defense has been relatively good actually. He's putting up lots of blocks this season, a lot more than he did for us. He's put up 105 blocks already this season.

His last three seasons with us he didn't have more than 100 blocks in a whole year.

Rose should be crucified (not literally) for his shooting - like Kobe was.

Pau's arms were pretty husky back then. [IMG] Already Marc had the kick your bleep look to him. Agree this is very cool. But like many others think taking the formal "center" selection out of the process was not cool.

I hate to dig up an old thread, but Dawkins just posted this and it's just too good not to share:

People don't remember how good of a passing team this was!

Ridiculously skilled in all facets of post play. Great times!

Side note too, Odom was such the perfect compliment to play on the Lakers. So unselfish and versatile in his own right.

2008-2010 were some entertaining teams to watch. How quickly people forget how good Pau was.

that was the beginning of the end for him. he was never the same player after that

from 07-11 he was easily one of the most dominant forwards in the game and he just crashed in the '11 playoffs

Nah no worries there .... remember Pau's classic comment about not becoming Clippers fans .... "That's what parents are for"

And we could use another enforcer ..... :giggle:

    Aw man,

it would be a sigh for sore eyes to see Gasol after losing Mamba.

Wouldn't mind him being a 3rd string bigman. It'll be great for practice for our starters to defend against someone with versatile offensive talent throughout the season.

Getting ready for passes on the fast break from a bigman and what not.
