We won a few games in a row! Our bench looks greatly improved with Booz. Our starters are playing better too, but no thanks to Price who needs to go back to the bench, please.
It could be worse. Carmelo, is going through a similar season to Kobe with a worst record. The difference is Melo is supposed to be in or JUST leaving his prime and he has no rings. I wanted him the Lakers but feel that a good core and a good system beats anybody except truly dominant players.
A win. Hustle by young players. Kobe resting his old vet body, Boozer mac daddying all over the social network, Sacre having a Luke Skywalker moment with Darth Boozer, Ronnie Price forgetting he can't shoot. Randle staying here with the potential to be a Laker fave next year, Swaggy loves Iggy for the four point play. Let's embrace the win, and at least concede we are more talented than Sir Charles wants to admit. Onto running with the Bulls at Christmas.
I know it's just one game (first without Kobe) but that was fun to watch. We have a nice bunch of players in JC, Ellington, Ed, Lin and Swaggy. Boozer plays great of the bench, price is making shots, DAMN.
This was our night. Great to see the guys play in the open floor, showing effort, and really look like a team out there; this reminded me of our win against SA Spurs. We've shown we can beat very good teams; we need to find a balance of Kobe and allowing the rest of these guys to play their games...if we do that, we could actually look like a decent landing spot next year for impending Free Agents to be...
It might just be one game but man that was a fun game to watch. Staples center was loud and into it, players were moving and sharing the ball. Hope that Byron and kobe realize that the other guys aren't completely useless.
Like always Kobe going out provides two things: 1. Guys feel freer and play easier. 2. The opponent takes a nap. This isn't going to last long-term as the talent differential catches up to us, but certainly that was fun to watch. Byron's offense looked much better without Kobe which is kind of strange and disconcerting. Young, Lin, and ELLINGTON looked really loose though and that was a lot of fun.
Mike Trudell just tweeted: So, I took a slightly deeper look at our 3PM, 3PA, and 3P% as the season progressed. All 3 have been on an upward trend.
We were a Kobe buzzer-beater 3 away from beating the Grizzlies. I'll take it. We've put up a fight against top teams in the west. Now if we could only play this way against all the bad teams....
Jordan Hill finally played well...seems like it's been awhile; let's hope he can keep this up. Kelly played 26 minutes without getting hurt and despite missing is shots played reasonably well; Clarkson had some good moments in the game. Lin has looked good for about 2-3 games in a row. I like our young talent. If only Randle were not injured...
I absolutely love the fight this team has in them. I have been down on BS at times, but I do like the foundation he is building.
Yeah, Hill got himself out of that mini-slump which was great to see. I like our guys, too. They are playing well now as a team.
Totally agreed. Byron might not be the coach we'll need for a Championship, but he's building the right way. They're playing some hard-nosed defense out there, trusting each other, and they're fighting every last second of the game. If we lose every game this way, they'll be much easier pills to swallow.
I don't understand why people so criticle on Byron. The guy came into this season with a mess team, hugh injuries and the "dealing with Kobe mission". sure there were games we looked like crap along the way, but in the last 2 weeks or so the team really found their rythem, He got Kobe playing the "Lebron way" in 32 min per game, hit the jackpot with Price on the starting lineup and Boozer on the bench. and the first one to finally change Wesley into a SF. made them to play hard and battle all thorugh the game. with all that happen, I think he did a solid to good job with the tools he got.
