Doesn't even include Jerry West or Elgin Baylor in the lineup. Goodrich, Wilkes... even guys like Nixon, Scott, Lamar, Divac, and Coop deserve mentions.

There's nobody with a catalog like the Lakers. Not even the C Bags.

All-time Laker starter would have at least 5 players insulted. That's how good the Lakers have it. I would keep it simple. To be an all time Laker, you had to have been a Laker your entire career.

    George Mikan
    James Worthy
    Kobe Bryant
    Jerry West
    Magic Johnson

You could switch Worthy with Baylor and not get any complaints.

Wilt only a 91? Kareem only a 96? Magic over Kobe? All-time Gasol only a 90? Seems they had to drop some ratings so this team doesn't have 3 or 4 players at 99. Magic, Kobe, Shaq, Kareem are all 99's. Pau and Wilt should also be in the mid 90s. Embarassment of riches.

Please be aware that we have suspended the presale for August 24th as well as the public onsale on August 25th.

The AXS services overloaded and they were unable to fix this in a suitable time period, so for fairness to our fans we will be suspending today's presale until a future date.
So it begins .I don't remember how it was after 2 NBA championship in 2009 and 2010 and it is different now but don't think that fans can crush services buying ticks for Milwoke or Atlanta games

Because he was a cold blooded killer. He helped slay the C Bags, he hit clutch shots to help us beat the Magic. And often overlooked but very memorable to me was his return from injury during the 2001 season for a game against the C Bags, which we won. We were sort of having a championship hangover, and he boosted the entire team with his return and the rest is history as we went 15-1 in the playoffs.

Kobe at his best HAS to be 99.
    Kareem HAS to be 99.
Shaq in 2001 HAS to be 99.
Elgin in his prime HAS to be 99.
    Wilt in '72 was still a 96.

No other team would stand a chance.

role players dont equal all time greats, I know coop/scott were role players too but they posted must better career stats than Fish, hell if just hitting big shots was part it, Rob could be in there too

I guess of all the Laker greats, you could say we've had the fewest at PG. I think that's why Fish is in. Besides Magic, who else you got? Norm Nixon ended up not as accomplished as Fish. Gail Goodrich was also considered a PG by most, and he's on the list.

    Nick Van Exel?

The drop off is pretty substantial after the top 3 at the position. (I'm assuming 15 man roster = 3 at each position)

Here is a list of all Laker guards: http://projects.latimes.com/lakers/position/guard/

You'll have to sift through to see who stands out at PG, but it's really pretty lean at that position.

I get your point, but I think sirron answered it well. We don't have a lot of great PGs in our history. C, SG, PF, lots, but not so much PG. I don't compare Fisher and Horry either. Fisher was a full time starter for us from the 2001 season on, Horry was a bench player almost his entire time here. Fisher was here for all 5 titles of the 2000's, and a major part of 4. He may not have averaged amazing numbers, he might not have been a "great" player, but he's absolutely a Lakers great. There were two constants with all 5 of our most recent titles, Kobe and Fisher. Fish earned Kobe's respect and trust when few other PGs ever did, he was right there next to him in every big battle, and he maximized his talent. If Cooper can be on there, Fisher can absolutely be on there. Oh and here's this for fun, Fisher didn't take any crap
