Also notice Ingram in the back working on his free throws, he's changing up his mechanics you can tell.

Looks like a little less arc on them, little softer touch, less height so less clank. Hope it works because those fts have to get better with how much he gets to the rim.

Good to see Ingram working on those shooting form fundamentals in the background as well. Doesn't seem as much arc, which is good.

Magic on 710 right now says the team believes Julius and D'Angelo have the talent to be All-stars!

But through the subtext he seemed to say they have to fix their bad habits and work on improving consistently. He said D'Angelo needs to be a better leader; he needs to pick up his defensive intensity and lead by example on the court and that Julius needs to work on his right hand.

Agree with this everything that was said from Magic.

Good news was that you could clearly see that Russell was picking it up defensively as far as his effort on that end of the floor in the last 4-5 games compared to pre-all star break.

Good to hear as well. Russell was playing that past prime Kobe D where it seemed like he was saving his energy but he's not as crafty as Kobe is so it was like wtf? "Get in his face, gets in there Ron-Ron style" .

I'm excited to see a young lakers lineup and seeing if guys can take the next step forward being in the second year of the system.

really wonder if magic's ingram proclamation wasn't completely about motivating randle and russell. i think he knows they want to stay in la.

all that said, if he truly believes their work ethic is a problem, he should have already traded them, imo. it's clear that byron was on them about this stuff already. maybe this is the last-ditch effort?

    anyway, accountability is good.

Get them in shape, raise their trade value, create more options. Do it with a smile while everyone loves you. Create plan to jettison the riff raff.

    Genius!

Ramona was saying on the The jump that unlike most NBA execs, Magic isn't playing any misdirection games when he says things like Ingram being untouchable. I tend to agree with her.

Whose trying to trade for him anyway and whatre they giving up lol. It's like the 18 year old you meet that's intriguing but you're like "Ehhh, she's cute but perhaps she can come my way in a few years" lol.

To me, it's not even a misdirection game.

Magic has been really upfront with the kids: they've got to reach another level, or they're not coming back. I like the message honestly. We as fans have been desperate for the same thing and now someone with clout is telling them they need to be more professional. We're holding these kids to the higher standard that we had grown accustomed too and somehow lost over the last few years. It's not so much Magic is being indirect with the kids as he's being ultra direct: right now Ingram is the only one we see 100% focused on being a champion.
