sixers fans should be THRILLED with how things are going. if the lakers finish where they are projected to finish, they have a less than 50% of keeping the pick and will likely convey the #4 or #5 overall pick to philly. if you were to draw up a worst case lakers scenario for this year, we're sort of living it. add in that boston is a) going to finish in the top 3 in their conference and b) going to get a top 3 pick, and one could cast this as one of the worst seasons to be a laker fan...ever.

oh wait, this is the optimism thread...

IF this is the worst season of laker fandom ever, then next year must certainly be better! right guys?!

I wonder if Boston looks to move Smart & or Rozier before the deadline..since the draft is elite PG top heavy.

They have a short backcourt with IT & Bradley. 6'6 Ball would fit right in.

Ah didn't realize the Lakers moved to 3rd worst as of this morning behind the Nets and now Suns. Thought they were still 2nd worst. If they were 2nd worst, they'd have a 55.8% chance of staying in the Top 3. Compared to 46.9% at 3rd worst. But yeah, Philly is absolutely thrilled the Lakers suck this bad.

C-Bags smartly robbed a new owner who knows nothing about B-ball/the construction of a team whereas we lost both Pau and Coward for nothing ...

Fortunately Lebron then the Warriors big 4 will make sure ( unless injuries happen) that those guys won't win a title within the next 3-4 seasons even if they add a star.

We may have some scare though

Was inexplicable the Lakers didn't trade Pau back in 2014. At the time of the trade deadline the team was 18-36. Kobe was out for the year, Nash was done and outside of Pau, the team was basically some mishmash of various mediocre role players. The Lakers traded Blake to GSW for Bazemore and Brooks. There was a solid trade market for Pau at the time. To keep him in a lost season and lose him to free agency for nothing is just an utter waste.

We should have traded him at the 2012 deadline at the latest.

His value was never great again after he struggled against Al Harrington (!) and Kenneth Faried of all people and never showed up against OKC .. but this my friends was another era and another team !

I'm sure he'll take the Jim Buss timeline approach, and say he didn't mean next year lol.

The most impressive thing that happen last night was when Denver shot 45 three's in the 4th, the Lakers did not get down. They matched them almost everytime. Id say that was the most impressive and most noticeable change all year. They broke through even when the other team was trying to kill them. Great win.

Deng is one of the team's best defenders on the floor...in reality doesn't amount to much considering how terrible they are collectively. Did not quite see your second observation in the article.
