I'm really not counting on Vando making a huge difference for us the rest of the way. Between him being out for an extended period of time, being thrown immediately into high-leverage games and already being tricky to play in certain playoff matchups, the circumstances of his return are far from ideal.

my optimism for today is a) ham won't be back next year and b) the whole team might take the whole season seriously after gambling that we'd be absolutely perfect to close the season and watching that blow up in our face.

At this point, sit Lebron. AD and AR. We’re stuck in 10th. Maybe the rest will do them good for the play in game.

We are a half game behind Sacramento and they have Phx and NO next.

NO has GS, Phx and US to finish the season.

Phx has Clippers, Sac and Minn

Nothing is settled at all yet.

There's a scenario where a 5-way tie happens between Lakers, Suns, Pels, Kings and Warriors at 47-35, it would involve the Lakers going 2-0, GS going 3-0, Suns going 1-2, Pels going 0-3, and Kings going 2-1.

Idk where that would leave us...but I think the only way we move up is if GS goes 2-1, Suns go 1-2, Pels go 0-3, and Kings go 1-2. We would unfortunately need SAC to win against NOP and lose to the Suns (possible) and the blazers (unlikely). We'd also have to hope that the Warriors fall asleep against either Portland or Utah but they have to beat NOP. Unfortunately, we've made our bed and now we have to sit in it. I hope one of Portland or Utah can play spoiler for us but I highly doubt either team will want to help us...

We would absolutely need the CLippers to win tonight against the Suns, and then need the Suns to beat the Kings, and then lose to the Twolves, all possible but they're all pick em games.

Pels would have to lose out and of course we have to BEAT THEM in that final game.

Nothing is impossible but more than likely we're headed for 10th...

Looking at your list (which looks really good BTW), this is what's probably going to happen:

GSW: The exact opposite could very well happen.
PHX: That might be exactly right actually.
NOP: I can see 2 out of 3 happening.
SAC: 2 of those could happen. They are not losing against POR though.

what’s settled is Lebron and AD are the softest stars I’ve seen in the 33 years I’ve been old enough to understand basketball.

    Settle with that.

PHO@ Clips tonight: we want Clips to win, as others cite above, but: PG13/Kawhi/Beardie are all listed as out.

Gee I wonder WHY??? (My best guess is not that all three are nursing significant injuries.)

lebron and AD aren't soft. they just aren't motivated in the way we want them to be. lebron's been in semi-retirement since he got here, and AD got that ring and didn't feel like he had much left to prove. i understand both. i'm annoyed, but i understand it.

wait, this is the optimism thread...

ok...after this season, my expectations for next year are quite low, so i won't have to deal this particular set of emotions again.

You can’t blame the Clippers, they did their job from the beginning…This team not so much and it caught up with them in the most inopportune time which was not that hard to predict, they FAFO’d
