    When would a GM EVER say he's in a hurry to trade his youth? I believe Mitch means it 100% but you would never undercut the value of your assets publicly. I don't think that we know these kid's plateaus yet. IF Jules refines that jumper and cleans up his TOs and plays D, IF DAR gets consistency on his shooting, WHEN Ingram gets some offense, IF JC puts in the work on 3 and D and doesn't slump when he's more of a focus due to injures, IF Nance gets a shot, IF Zubac develops into a banger, all those things are hanging in the air right now.

    I have never found any of Mitch's interviews to be revealing or insightful. Frankly, if I did, he'd be a bad GM.

    Not that i think the draft would save us given that dlo/ingram arent exactly killing it but i would still hope we keep the pick this upcoming draft with all the losing now lol

    I think they'll be fine, perfect challenge to get them back on track against Philly. No reason they shouldn't mop the floor with Philly...

    lol.. I still catch myself checking the standings and expecting us to be 1/2/3 ranked in the league.. sigh.

    philly has been a much better basketball team than the lakers for the past month or so. they couldn't beat phx or ny at home or bkn on the road. i'm guessing they're not favored by vegas in this one...or maybe any game for a while. they're going to have to play better than they have in a long time just to win against philly.

    oh wait, this is the optimism thread...

    Despite our slide we're still not in last place; 11th in the west at this point and right now 3 wins back behind 8th placed Portland. So at the very least if the Lakers can get it together soon they still could make things interesting down the line. Still hoping they can sneak in but I'd be happy if they wind up around this spot by season's end. That'll show that one they've made great progress, and two pushes that Philly pick further down the slot. I could be happy with that. Anyway, like the Andersons and got tickets to the game today. Here's to hoping Lakers can break out of this slump starting tonight.

    08-09 OKC : 23-59, made the Finals 3 seasons later
    10-11 GS : 36-46 won the title 4 seasons later

    Not saying it will definetely happen for us but it offers some perspective
