Well that’s not what I meant of course. Roster issues usually work themselves out, but if players do miss time, it does make it easier to juggle minutes and keep guys happy on a stacked roster.

absolutely. even if things go poorly, we have a lot more options than we've had in a while. no extra long bad contracts, didn't punt our 29 pick, finally have several midsized contracts and a mix of vets and young guys. just lots of possibilities.

.... and the pick we gave up is top 5 protected, right? Rob pulled ALL of this off with Westbrick hanging around his neck for over a season and a half, and every other team knew it and was trying to screw him. But sure .... 15th in that GM pool. Tossers. :swear:

top-4, iirc, but it turns into 2nds immediately if not conveyed. that's amazing, tbh. so if lebron and AD are done in 2026 and we're in the gutter, the worst possible pick we lose is the 5th overall--which is unlikely because we won't be actively tanking anyway knowing that we don't own our pick. i actually can't believe we managed that deal after the months of teams saying that they'd give us gordon hayward for two unprotected 1sts and whatnot. liars.

anyway, my only guess is that--perhaps fairly--people still pin all the really bad decisions when magic was here, plus the russ trade, on rob. and he was the gm for all of that, so ok, i guess. few teams have screw-ups as big as the zubac trade, the westbrook trade, and letting caruso walk.

diehard laker fans might ascribe the bad small trades to magic (i think this is accurate, tbh), and the russ trade to lebron. but can you mince this way when making your fake gm ranking? that's a lot of effort.

I'm feeling very good about our squad this year. Lots of versatility in terms of lineups, some strong role players, lots of youth. We've done a heck of a job keeping the parts that fit from last year and adding on. Rob pretty much nailed this one. As ever, hope for good health.

In theory, at least, these young guys should really be able to do a lot of heavy lifting to get us through the 82. It's a pretty well rounded young group.

Looks exciting …. can’t wait! For sure throw Reaves in with that bunch with probably even more gravity since shooting in neighborhood of 55% from DEEP in the NBA playoffs and FIBA world championship rounds nonstop …. with his handles, moves and playmaking threats also going toward the rim.

Rob has really set us up. LeBron can play just enough to stay sharp and fresh for the playoffs and still be a high seed. Excited to see DLO get his first championship along with the younger guys. Jason and Christian will be exciting to watch. TP guaranteed 40% from three. Max coming on and Austin established as a star. A lot to look forward to.

This roster really has me looking forward to the season! I absolutely HATED the opening rosters we had the last two years.
