it was in Tagalog, so I mostly just read the New Testament and ask for forgiveness for past sins from my various personalities.

:Kobe Shrug: konti lang tagalog ang alam ko

So: maybe some of you have heard this. I'm not sure if anyone has "named" this General Principle, but, generally, if one team in the playoffs annihilates another - like the Lakers jumped out to a 35-9 1st Q in Game 3 - the other team comes back the next game and wins. This did not happen, but man, it was tight. The Old Man still brings it.

Anyway: I was thinking about the "law" and after that game, thought if the other team comes back to within single digits, the law doesn't hold. And it didn't.

We're on the verge of being a #7 seed who knocks off a #2; MIA might be a #8 that knocks off #1, thanks to Big Game Jimmy and his 56. Down 14 n the 4th, come back and win against the #1 seed...We don't see this very often. Or: is it more often than we think?:

    1994: #8 Nugs beat #1 Sonics
    1999: #8 Knicks beat #1 Heat
    2007: #8 GSW beat #1 DAL
    2011: #8 MEM beat #1 Spurs

...4 times in about 30 years, or once every 7.5 years or so. You be the judge about how "rare" it is for MIA to be about the send MIL home. Not having the Greek Freak for games 2 and 3 will always be the qualifier about this upset, but it's still pretty huge. I mean, look how MIL responded in Game 2 without Giannis.

Man, Giannis, off his "bruised back" - which just sounds painful as hell, and we saw his fall - comes back, has a triple-double, and they still lose and go down 1-3?

Great win, some luck, some grit, some skill by one of the GOATs. Gotta keep the foot on the gas, can't let this series drag past game 5... i still have nightmares about our series against PHX, where we were also up 3-1. It looks too damn similar, let's hope for a different outcome this time :)

when we closed the first half like that, i thought we were cooked. and again when we went down 7 midway through the 4th. dlo woke up just in time, and then the stars brought it home on both ends. on the other end, bane played out of his mind for like 50 minutes and then shanked some open looks that would have won it for them.

Bane finally wore down carrying them on offense and guarding AD.

We’re 3-1 up on a good defensive team. So either our offence isn’t so bad, or we’re a good defensive team ourselves. Or maybe a combination of both.

it's the latter, imo. we have more talented offensive players than we did before, but we're not maximizing there. we didn't play much defense to finish the 2nd or start the 3rd, but otherwise we were very good there and have been since russ left.

Yeah we have Championship Defense, maybe the best in the league. Our offense, on the other hand.

If you need to explain playoff basketball to anyone, just show them that game. Holy crap.

Staples Center was POPPING and definitely helped in the win.

Yeah the team is still not clicking. And we are still winning. That's pretty amazing!!
Our defense is great for sure and we need it badly.
I think our offense might only click next year, or never at all, having LeBron, AD, Dlo, Reaves, Rui, Schroder, Beasley, it's too much offensive arsenal not to click at some point

We can definitely close the series in Memphis and see the other series hopefully go to game 7.
    Let's go!!!
