yep ... 7th and 8th seeds are going to be a battle between Grizz , OKC ( schedule has been easy ) and us imo .

Our focus should be on the game at Memphis ( I know it's very early but still you want wins against you main opponents) .

Plus I don't see us winning at Toronto at all .

PS ; I know Luke and his staff won't think like this

Like a certain pro football team that set the record for most penalties in a game (23 to be exact as well)...and still won.

the bulls are such a considerate team - after beating us in LA on the 2nd night of a back to back for them when we were fresh, all they wanted to do was return the favor by losing to us in the exact same way in Chicago

Just watched Access Sportsnet just now, Spectrum needs to hire Serena Winters full time. Let's put that she is hot AF to the side for a minute. She does 2 things that every legit professional does, she works directly into the Lakers circle AND she backs up her opinions, analysis with actual facts. In an era of gasbag, narcissistic, blow hard analysts, she does her job the way it is written. They need to put her on full time. I'll watch it everytime if she is on there. Also, she is really smokin hot.

Imagine if the Lakers finish 42-40 this year? And we are finally done with the draft pick life? The Steve Nash trade then doesn't hurt anymore.

Mike Trudel said we were only favored to win 3 of our 10 games won.

    Talk about over achieving.

Is it because we ARE overachieving, or because ESPN was caught with their Lakers hating pants down with all the same negative crap before the start of the season they've been saying a couple of gleeful years and rating us that low .....without really looking at the situation with Luke Walton now being our head coach and there being some real talent on a very deep squad?

    Well BOTH! Suck it ESPN!!

I remember him saying vs Dallas we were favored and lost. I can't remember the others.

Probably the Dallas game and the Pelicans game...maybe the Wolves game? We have losses to GS twice, SA once and the Bulls once. I doubt we were favored in any of those.

dallas isn't as bad as their record; they've been competitive in most games. but that was a bad home loss. NO's a different team with holiday and the BPI doesn't factor that in.

the lakers are overachieving to this point, and i'll gladly take it. the wolves and NO beatdowns are troubling, though, as we're all looking forward to more of those games, but we haven't seen reason to believe that the lakers will feast on bad teams. if anything, they play up to the level of big competition and sometimes sleepwalk into these "winnable" games. they need to be reminded that when you've won, like, 30 total games in two years, you don't get to assume you'll win a game.

No matter how much you lose by, it only counts as one loss

Seems like injuries are creeping up but this being an optimistic thread... I'd rather we deal with these now and get everyone to full strength for a possible playoff push (or close to it) by the New Year.

Optimism, we are still fighting and hovering around .500, bouncing back each time we need to get there. I think the Memphis game today might end that streak, but still. We've suffered some key injuries and Luke has still held this team together to get some nice wins like the Bulls game on the road.
