    Welcome aboard LakersKing82.

Been watching the Lakers since Jerry West was a rookie!!

We can't win them all and fans come and go.

The bottom line for all these fair weather fans is for them to realize that I am always right and they are mostly wrong, unless they agree with me!!!

It is as simple as that!!

My optimism at this point is mostly focused on next year. We have LeBron and AD and that’s an amazing start point. Some so called NBA expert was on LA sports radio this morning suggesting Rob trade AD in the off season. I’m optimistic that Rob is just a bit sharper than that.

The bright side is we know we beat the Suns (2nd best reg season record in the West) if Davis is healthy... we would probably win 4-1. This AD+Bron pairing works so we just have to pray that both of them come back healthy and rejuvenated. The pessimistic side of me is saying we need to trade everyone else, though. Not a single player stepped up this series (excluding game 6). Go across the board... KCP made only one three in games 1-5 and he was supposed to be the Lakers best shooter. Kuzma is just a lost cause. He needs to go. We should have kept Josh Hart and shipped Kuzma out. As much as I dislike AD's injury history, we were winning when he was healthy so it isn't his fault he got injured. Bron was clearly not 100% but he was the MVP leader in the regular season up until Solomon injured him. It's the rest of the guys on the roster who did not step up.

Like I said, I'm at peace.

Seems like just the other day we won the title. We're the greatest franchise in sports.

Liveshot of me on the Jameson tonight:

I’m proud of the team for coming back and making a game of this one. With Booker red hot and the Suns dominating that first quarter it looked like another blow out like game 5. We showed a lot of heart and resilience fighting back especially in the second half. I feel good about it all though we couldn’t get over without AD. Some hills are too steep to climb. We’ll come back strong next year.

Sure, yeah maybe it was a miss, but man I appreciated your post so much. Gave me a lot of hope because your optimism was based on the mystique and tradition of Lakers success. I think there was a kernel of that hope in all of us, because we've seen our team come through like that before.

This year, it wasn't meant to be. But hope to see you stick around and continue to post here! Always great to see some of the CL OG's!

I’m just happy we are relevant and in the title chase every season if healthy. We missed 6 straight playoffs, we had seasons of wins in the TEENS. It’s all about perspective. We can whine about LeBron failing or whatever, or AD being hurt, but we HAVE these players. We don’t have to watch a bunch of decent kids play for 10th place, or some mediocre players getting us to the 8th seed season after season, we get to watch one of the all time greats play games for us. Years ago before Kobe passed and I hated LeBron I’d have said different, but things got put into serious perspective for me, we get to watch a true great while some franchises will never even HAVE one. I’ll appreciate every bit of LeBron here because like Kobe there will never be another and we’ll miss his ridiculous reliability and the belief he gives you going in that you can win any game, and it could all be over when he’s done, we are fortunate fans, spoiled even.

yeah, we have two top five nba players, neither of whose injuries should carry over into next year. the press is going to yammer on about us being done, but we most certainly are not.

real short memories around here. a first-round loss minus a first-team all nba player would have been parade-worthy 4 years ago.

It’s looking likely that the team that knocked us out of the playoffs could represent the West in the Finals too, very much like 2011, so that’s something. It’s a tiny bit less rough to me if you’re knocked out by a team that makes it that far.

We essentially had our two best players missing for the playoffs, not near 100 in any case.

We went from 2012 to 2019 not sniffing the playoffs. Just in 2020-2021, We made the playoffs twice and won a Championship. I am extremely happy with that.

I'm optimistic AD is going to learn how to train and stay healthy. He needs to do some kung fu training to limber up.

I think the Lakers crush both the Bucks and Phoenix if they were healthy.
Once Saric went down, the Suns went from Ayton to a bunch of SF's: the Lakers would be throwing at AD and Lebron on him and he'd have to give energy on defense. Jrue and Middleton aren't guy who traditionally give the Lakers trouble either.

We saw when AD was healthy the Lakers didn't even take the Suns seriously. Oh well, I think both the Clippers and Nets are thinking the same as well. All credit to Giannis and the Bucks as every championship is hard and injuries happen but this was one of the weakest runs I've ever seen (Nets have Harden on one leg, Kyrie barely plays. They're losing to the Hawks till Young gets hurt, Phoenix faces no Murray, a hobbled Lebron, no AD, no Kawhii, no Murray)
