I'm holding to my opinion but I'll say this then I'm done: I'm not trying to take away from our guys' win, any win. I'm celebrating every win we get this season, whatever the circumstances. Some nights we get the opposition's best punch, sometimes we don't. That's all. But as long as our guys compete every night, I'm happy. I expect them to win a certain number of wins but in truth I'm secretly hoping they're good enough to make the playoffs this season. That number is just to keep things in a more realistic viewpoint, but inside I'm am desperately hoping they exceed that, if that makes any sense. Anyway, that's all.

go back and watch the highlights of Steph missed shots, they were mostly wide open, same for Klay and he's going through a real bad shooting stretch. But seeing some of your thread, I guess I should be saying we're title contenders now? Weren't you the one who posted that we have the best big man rotation in the league?

What hasn't been said a lot, these kind of performances generate a lot of positive talk about the team around the league. Maybe we finally become an attractive FA destination again, who knows.

Regardless, its a day later and I'm still on the high from that win.

No that was me and it was "one" of the best in the league once Zubac gets more minutes and a rhythm out there for times when needed.

With these young guys developing and lets say we win 35 - 40 games this year that will entice a big name FA to sign with us. We will have 1 max slot next year so who knows.

Two interesting things about the Lakers in Jeff Sagarin's new ratings:

First, LA is 23rd in the league in terms of Rating, ahead of only Phoenix, New Orleans, Sacramento, and Dallas among West Conference teams. That would place the Lakers 11th in the West. FWIW, that would match up well with my Win Projection of 33 - Sacramento, Denver, and Milwaukee all won 33 games last season; they finished 10th(tied), 10th(tied), and 12th in their conferences, respectively. (In 14/15, 33 win teams would have been 12th and 11th in the two conferences.) I suppose that's bad news.

Second, LA has played the most difficult schedule in the NBA so far, having faced six top 16 teams (they're 3-3, obviously), and four top 10 teams (they're 2-2). That's good news, and it shows that our team can compete against good teams.

I think some people have forgotten what the Optimism thread is all about. This thread isn't for questioning faith and doubting success, it's about loving the good and ignoring the bad!

Jordan Clarkson said that since he'd been drafted the Lakers have never been .500. I don't know if that's accurate, but it feels like it is. Here's to them having a winning record tonight.

There are those who will buzz kill this impressive Laker victory with the Warriors on the 2nd of back to back games and Curry/ Thompson having pitiful shooting games, but I must say, it's not that they won the game but how they did it. No one player stood out, no one player took 20+ shots, the offense was reminiscent of Popovich's Spurs, ball movement, player movement, multiple passes leading to dunks and open looks. Rarely saw a forced shot, instead saw a few forced passes, and the defense! Who ever thought Nick Young and Lou Williams would not only try, but be effective on that end. When a long rebound or turnover occurred, time after time the Warriors were faced with a 1 on 3 or 2 on 4, just plain hustle. It's been 3+ seasons since I've been excited to watch them, and look forward to the next game...it's good to be a Laker Fan again, Thanks Luke!
