I put this in the Random Other Teams thread in the NBA forum as a stretch and will put it here too as a stretch. Don't think it needs its own thread. But as far as past Lakers greats' family members it's a good thing the UCLA medical staff caught something with Shareef Oneal's heart that isn't right. He apparently could have died on the court. Will have surgery and redshirt this year. And hopefully good to go next year.

Hmmm .... who can we put on the floor when IT's in the game that will be a bad match up for him defensively? Besides the obvious "everyone" answer?

Last night was really fun to watch. Some of those passing exchanges between Lebron, Rondo and Ingram were just incredible. Add Lonzo to this mix and we are going to have some very dynamic basketball.

Adding Lonzo changes just about everything.

Either Lonzo or Rondo coming off the bench means less isolation for Stephenson (heck might push Stephenson out of the rotation). That means the ball movement is back which frees up Kuzma. Pope or Hart, whomever is off the bench, will get touches galore and the team will be dynamic as all hell.

I also think Wagner has a shot at some serious minutes. I don't see Zubac long for this team. I don't know what happened to him on the defensive end, but he's just dreadful. He's still got some nice footwork offensively, but that won't cut it. Wagner is a much, much better fit for this second unit. He's a willing defender (if sub-par), can run and move well, and can space the floor which the team needs right now. Beasley is a fancy experiment, but he won't work as a small-ball Center off the bench. I don't know what his role will be, but it'll likely end up in a suit on the bench.

The units should be: Rondo or Lonzo/Hart/Ingram/LeBron/McGee with Lonzo or Rondo/Stephenson eventually replaced by Svi/Pope/Kuzma/Wagner.

When we go small it should be: Lonzo/Hart/Ingram/LeBron/Kuzma, but this lineup needs a lot of work. Kuzma is a willing fighter down low, but he needs help. He's not stopping a 7 footer on the block without a double team and some scrambling defense on the perimeter.

We really need another reliable center that's our achilles heel. As far as strengths this team will be dominant as an exceptional ball movement squad. But our 3 point shooting has been average so far. We need Svi and Wagner to play to get that up since that's why they were drafted.

You can just feel the crowd stand to their feet in anticipation when we're off in a fast break with our play-makers running the lanes and Lebron playing the trailing man or leading the fast break. Tons of excitement and amazing passing plays coming this year. Can't wait.

    Not a problem.

We’ll have Josh Hart guard their center, Ingram guard their SG, and Kuz guard their SF.... only somewhat kidding
