I don't think we have a Jeanie Buss Thread and wasn't sure where to put this but, I think this is a fair spot.

You could always start a thread for her, I'm sure we'll hear more from her.

    I'd add these 2 guys :)

Beasley was a big pickup for depth, he allows Kuz to run with the starters besides the fact he will eat bench units up. Or he can play small ball center @ end of games etc.

KCP, though he was here last year, going into his 6th year at 25 years old is still entering his prime athletically and otherwise will be improved. Last year was his best shooting year. He'll get the ball in better situations this year as will all. In perspective, this is a guy who was looking for a 20 mil a year deal when the market was jumping. He bolsters our defense. He gives us the ability to have Hart off the bench with Beasley. Not fun for other 2nd units.

I think we made a big mistake sending Randle packing for nothing in return. We should have traded him for assets at the deadline if he was in our future plans. But otherwise, I'm good with our roster for the one-year plan. I haven't looked forward to opening tip this bad in years.

i'd agree except the tea leaves indicated they shopped randle hard for a 1st last year, and nobody would bite. good gamble by opposing gms, knowing randle was gumming up our cap (and it was clear we didn't like him).

i'm curious to see how his career goes. make no mistake: lakers management spoke with their actions--they think he's not good. i thought he was an nba rotation player. let's see. i know he's going to kill our a**** a couple times a year, though. but will he make his team better? he didn't do a ton of that here, despite his considerable talent and effort.

Not to be one of those guys that bashes a player after he's gone (especially since I too liked Julius a lot), but there's a lot of metrics that say we weren't better when he played.

Another 2nd round pick wasn't gonna do much.

I think Randle and especially his agent were the ones who made a mistake. I did want to see Randle at small ball center with Lebron but the writing was on the wall pretty quick into FA that Julius and agent wanted to see if they could get more somewhere else and things broke down. We lost trust in Mintz because of the PG situation and probably vice versa as well. Too bad. But we weren't going to jeopardize cap space for next summer over Randle and I get that. I was as high on Randle as just about anyone here, but that ship sailed and I'm ok with it now. Honestly, I had thought that KCP would be dropped for sure, but clearly his resigning here was the cost of us doing business with Lebron's agent. Again, I'm fine with that because he's the biggest FA in the world and we got him locked up for four years. I'd much rather have Lebron (and KCP) than Randle.

Damn, forgot Beas. I think his newfound maturity is going to unlock years of wasted potential. Agree about kcp too. He was really good after his legal crap was over.

We don’t seem to have an official Jeanie Buss thread, but this is a cool video during a slow Lakers news time

This is a fantastic listen. I don't know about anyone else but I always listen to the new episode come out but I thought Pete and Darius really go over what they expect to see and want to see from certain players and how our defense is going to be based on the film work Pete has done recently for his upcoming article on The Athletic.

I encourage everyone to give this episode a listen.

I also agree with Pete and what he's been hearing from Lakers fans online the goal should be 2nd Round of the playoffs and anything after that is gravy for this first year with Lebron.

    Goal is the 2nd round?????..

Championship leadership in Lebron and Rondo. Talented vets with some incredibly talented youngsters. Great management and coaching. All seem very driven. I might have settled for second round before getting Rondo and James. The goal now is Championship. I understand within management and coaches keeping the pressure down a bit with a year to work together stuff but behind closed doors they are all talking championship.

If we get to the Finals, I hope Rondo can carry us. At least he has a .500 winning percentage in the Finals
