DAR took the concept and ran with it way too far though. His exact quote was too youth centric and claiming more for them than realistic. I don't have the link. It was discussed. He yaks too much about him going to be good and "the young guys". It will be put up or shut up time real quick like starting next week in pre-season games.

Do it DAR! Back it up and show us and show the league.

The Lakers can sign one max player next off-season.

I just want the team to show significant progress in order to have something to convince FAs coming to LA. The new practice facility, a young and developing core, the great city etc.

If they are able to steal a great player along the way, it will accelerate the development of this team significantly.

I'm torn about that for sure. Signing a max player means someone isn't in the long term plans that we already have.

    D'Angelo
    Clarkson
    Ingram
    Randle
    Zubac

It's exciting to see solid young players with great potential that are home grown. When they are good people, it can even harder to think of trading them.

Glad I'm not the GM. Keeping business and relationships separate I'm sure can be very challenging.

are there any remaining unrestricted free agents that are with the max and would be a good fit? i'm pretty sure all of the guys i would have wanted have signed extensions. I'd rather focus on role players and save some funds for our youth as they require extensions.

Zubac will be coming up for big money by his third year just like Clarkson because they were 2nd round picks, correct? Julius not far behind. Nance, others? Then DAR in what 4 years, 3 years?

JC already signed long term this past off season. Something like 4 years?

They had to make a decision after his first 2 years. He was restricted this year.

Why anyone worried about Zubac getting big $ contract? I like the guy but hes not even goingto be a mjor factor in the rotation baring injuries. Also he'll be limited on his contract like Jc

LOL. You could have been the guy who started the Bynum Will Never Be Special thread back in the day and be just as wrong about this. He's a Big. If he's really good in two years which he will be, book it, he's going to get paid a whole lot more than Clarkson.

Hes still limited to how big, learn the cba....and im more of show me in game before i predict things like having the best big man roatation in the league, a rotation that consist of a starter who best yr was avg 9/7 while the other had to go back to china after busting out in the league

Clarkson took less than he could have, but I don't know how much less.

Can't wait to see this team play, we are finally on the rise. There is so much talent with a coach that can develop them, form strong relationships, and overall just believe in them...it can and probably will go a long ways.

I didn't say the best big man rotation in the league. I said one of the strongest possibly, certainly better than a lot of teams.
