    Just left the game in Atlanta. I thought it was a nice gesture for the Hawks to allow us to wear our home unis at Staples South, aka Phillips Arena. It was a glorified home game yet again lol. Even with only 26 wins, it still feels good to be a Laker fan.

    Why is it that Atlanta is like a home game for us? I have no idea what's the story is, but it has been like this for ages now.

    I can’t be sure, but I think Atlanta fans have kind of latched onto other franchises because they’ve been bad for so long. I always read there are a lot of Lakers fans in Atlanta. The Hawks only championship was when they were in St Louis, in 1958. Imagine rooting for a team that has never won a title, not even been IN the Finals, in your lifetime. Bomani Jones always makes little jokes and comments about how Atlanta will find a way to screw things up, and he was proven right with last year’s Super Bowl. I think they’re kind of like Cleveland before LeBron. When your team always sucks, a lot of people will find a new team to root for based on a player they like, maybe it was Kobe that created this wave of fans, like Jordan created so many bandwagon fans in the 90’s.

    Huh? I only assumed if there’s a ‘younger’ group of Lakers fans in Atlanta they probably became Lakers fans because of Kobe and Shaq, then Kobe as he continued on. I’m 33 and I never saw Showtime, was a little before my time. I also assumed in the 80’s the Hawks would have had a much bigger fan base because they had Dominique and were a playoff team almost every single year of that decade. The whole East vs West conference style of play seemed to be a much bigger thing back then too, we were Hollywood, they were “tough”. The internet and League Pass seems to have made it way easier to be a fan of any team you want these days.

    Good point but Showtime was America's team so I believe the fanbase got wider because of them

    Atlanta has always been like a home game for us as far as fans.

    Well we are 9-0 @ home since Jan 7th. 6-7 on the road. 15-7 overall since Jan 7th.

    If we kept the same win/loss percentages of home and road games for these past 22 games for the next 22 (which is the rest of the games), we would end up 43-39 and very likely in the playoffs. Likely we can't win out at home but we could improve our road record so who knows? A good thing is a lot of people give up towards the end of the year. Not just teams tanking but players and teams who have nothing to play for. We don't have any of those, we have a bunch of players that need new contracts this summer. These guys and our youth are going to ball until game 82. Also Lonzo is making his return and IT is lookin alright now. Thomas can get open with the way this group attacks the net and can kick out. He also dishes some nice passes especially to Jules who he seems to find a lot. I still miss Nance and his rook contract, Clarkson too but less so but even without yielding the benefits of the cap space their absence provides I think we are picking up the slack. We'll see, 3-3 since the trade nothing amazing but trending up for sure after tonight's roadie blow out.

    Our pattern since Jan 7th has been to win 4, lose a couple rinse and repeat so far since Jan 7 it's gone:

    WWWW-LL-WWWW-LL-WWWW-LLL-WWW

    The 3 losses came immediately after the trade so, a bit of a hiccup there but we seem to be recovering and making some use of IT's scoring while working Lonzo back in.

    Luke has improved too , he wasn't terrible but cost us some games to be fair .

    I like the direction we're heading , the main thing which is enjoyable ( and obviously you get good results on the floor) is to have several ball handlers sharing the court together

    Lonzo , IT , Randle , Ingram ...

    Luke goal is still to replicate GS ...

    Just a little prediction for the rest of the season.

    @MIA - W - I think with the way we're rolling, it'll be a battle to a nice hard fought win.

    @SAS - L - Revenge game for San Antonio after we blew them out at home. I think Pop makes the adjustments this time.

    POR - L - Dame just always has our number, first home loss after 9 in a row.

    ORL - W - Revenge game for us after losing on the road, blowout.

    @DEN - L - This will be a battle of young talent, they are fighting for a playoff spot.

    CLE - L - We all want to win this one, but LAbron.

    DEN - W - Another battle, but we'll take it this time at home.

    @GS - L - Golden State are rolling right now into playoff form, think this will be a tough blowout.

    MIA - W - Bounce back game win.

    @IND - W - This will be a scrappy game, but I think we take it.

    @NOP - L - Too much Anthony Davis? May be.

    @MEM - W - Memphis has given up. Blowout.

    @DET - W - Roll into DET against Biff. I'd take a win.

    DAL - W - Another Lakers rolling to end the season, blowout.

    MIL - W - BI vs Greek Freak, but we take the win.

    SAC - W - Blowout the Queens.

    @UTA - L - Utah could be fighting for a playoff spot, so could be a loss.

    SAS - W - Think we take this one back.

    MIN - L - Minny will be rolling towards the playoffs.

    UTA - W - We play spoiler and end their chance at playoffs...again.

    HOU - L - They may be fighting for home court, but we've had their number this year, and with a full healthy team, I'd love a win.

    @LAC - W - Finish the season with a win against the tenants.

    I'll set my expectations at 13-9 to finish the season, finishing at 39-43 in 10th place in the West. I'll take it. If we exceed it, more power to us, and you never know, could sneak in to that final spot.
