    Ten years playing in professional basketball is old. Rubio is constantly banged up already and hasn't truly developed a jumper in the last few years. He's plateaued. If we're counting young players with tons of upside still to go, Rubio has proven to me that he shouldn't be counted chief among that list. Clarkson is only a year or two younger but with far less mileage and has shown growth now two years running. There is still time there and a ceiling to be reached. Rubio has hit his until he figures out how to shoot.

    Well, yeah. Still, you gotta figure he is good, as their floor general for at least 3 - 4 years. He is a good defender and passer. Awful shooter (kills me, why?).

    He hasn't been a good defender either of the past two seasons. Maybe it's being banged up, but his one defensive skill is steals. That's good, but it's not going to get the job done - he gets beaten a lot. Opponents scored 22 PP36 on 48.6% eFG last season, for instance.

    Agreed. I think he gets traded this year at some point. Dunn will be a better player. I think he's (Dunn) already better defensively.

    10 years of professional basketball is not and shouldn't be considered old. Many respected analysts have said the age of a NBA entering their primes is usually between 28-33.

    Now, with this said Rubio isn't the traditional pro player because his time playing international as a very young teenager and Olympic basketball play.

    I disagree with this. Ten years as any professional athlete is a long time, basketball is no different. According to this source the average playing career in the NBA is less than 5 years. Rubio has played more than 8700 minutes in the NBA, more than 2500 minutes in the Euroleagues, and I believe that doesn't include how many minutes he's played in the Olympics/World Games and Playoffs. He's got an inordinate amount of mileage on his legs for a 26 year old player.

    But we both agree Rubio isn't the typical average player. Maybe my opinion of basketball primes based on ages 28-32 needs to be shortened slightly. But I still think its crazy to call anyone around 26 or 27 old for an NBA player.

    No he's an atypical player given that he started playing professionally at 15 years old, but he still started playing professionally at 15 years old.

    Not ever 26 year old has his sort of mileage, but that really wasn't the point of my post.

    rubio's going to be a really interesting case going forward, imo. as a young player he's been a poor man's jason kidd, but kidd stayed viable later in his career because he developed a standing three to keep defenses honest. he was also big and physical enough to switch onto sgs and sfs on many nights defensively. i'm not sure rubio is going to be able to do those things. watching him, you always think he could/should be a more effective player.

    i keep waiting from him to be traded to a team with a bunch of scorers that needs a distributor/organizer. i'm not sure who that is right now, though. cleveland?

    Orlando might be a good landing spot.

    He's a lot younger than I thought he is. He's a good QB but not having a reliable outside shot hurts his effectiveness. I remember he was great on the defensive end in getting steals but maybe all the injuries is slowing him down a bit there.

    I feel like Twolves should trade him, Dunn is/will be a better player than him I think.

    yeah, but what's his trade value? that's the issue. odd prediction: he gets hurt, becomes viewed as useless, is dumped to a contender, and that team flourishes.

    Rubio would be great with us...but we already have Russell. I like his floor game. Cleveland? Not so much, James dominates the rock and the flow of that offense. Rubio would be reduced to spectating.

    sirron are you just tweaking people that are enamored with her with the ring gif or is she really married? First time I saw it I went back to the photo of her that had been posted and saw no ring. If it's not true why are you being so cruel to Kenzo? :Laugh:
