Not even close .... Zu stayed with his decent move and got a piece of it.

Can't tell if that is Kobe in the background thinking "y'all need to calm down...we're only a .500 team."

I always felt his thoughts were much worse in that clip. Look at the very end with that Mike Brown like stare kind of turning toward Russell jumping up and down like that.

Despite the loss I will say I love the young talent on this roster and just the overall direction of the team.

I've been a Lakers fan since I was about 5 years old (now 23) so almost 20 years and I have to admit the last few years have been difficult. The team was so bad and not only that, but they just played such a selfish and boring style of basketball I couldn't help, but lose interest as a fan and almost becoming numb to it all.

One thing Lonzo is doing is changing that narrative. He is inspiring teammates. Having an effect on them in a way you don't see from 20 year old PG's. Just a different vibe and energy around this team that there hasn't been in years. Really excited to see how Lonzo and this team grows together over the course of the season.

They beat the Wizards and then were up 17 on the Raptors. Those are two of the top 4-5 teams out West.

    It's starting to click.

Yes but we need our coach to get on the same page.

Even though we gave up that lead to TOR, that was some of the best defense we've played in stretches. It was the poor shooting and turnovers that have been hurting us and not the defense which is a nice change.

Brandon Ingram is starting to figure out. He’s gonna be a great player in this league. He was one of the few bright spots tonight.

My optimism is we are definitely better defensively than last year's. Last year we would have been losing by 30 with no defense. I think our weakness is half court offense and efficiency with our 3 point shooting. Other than that we have a great bench and number 2 in fast breaks (also because of defense + Zo effect) ... This year I'm not going to look at wins and loses I'm going to look at team improvement and getting better playing for each other.

He still kept us in the game until Utah pulled away late.

Honestly have zero feeling about anything with this team. Still no identity. Too young of a team to win alot of games.

He just said it. Losing sometimes by only 5 or 10 and being up in the game at times that you lose by that lesser margin ..... rather than the more often 20-30 point beat downs in prior years.

And if Luke gets his head out of his butt with the starting lineup and more minutes for players like Randle and Kuzma and Hart that are earning them .... we should stop losing so many times against teams that are beatable. All this is going on while we've lost the offense and 3 point shooting from Lou and Nick we had last year.

he said win/loss record doesnt matter, as long as you improving, i say you improve you win more. so we cam consider this team "imoroved" if by end of this theyre a 20 something win team but 40 of the loses are less than double digits?

Defense by the numbers has improved dramatically the last few games.

Go figure now it's the offense that's a problem. Get some firepower in the starting lineup Luke. Not rocket science. Hard core fans hate it when coaches do stupid stuff.

Stop acting like your predecessors with dumb lineups.

Can we get some love for the Lakers defense?

We are currently 9th in the NBA in defensive rating. We were 12th about a week ago so we're on the rise.

    I'm still in shock!

    Same here!

Bogut and KCP additions have been HUGE.

Much like Lonzo is having an impact on ball movement and the flow of the offense. Those guys are doing the same for the defense.

Bogut is still an elite help defender, shot blocker, and has that championship experience.

KCP is a big time perimeter defender and just so active defensively.

The intensity and effort on that side. The young guys are really in tune more than you’d anticipate for such a young squad.

I mean so much of being a good defensive team is communication and effort and we’re seeing that right now with these Lakers.
